I should have bought a generator. Power been out 28 hours and it is sticky as hell. Front and back? doors open to add a little circulation but no breeze tonight. No telling what snakes and stray cats are wandering in. Supposed to be another day before restoration since a lot of big trees are down. My dead end street was blocked for 12 hours with a huge tree and wires which someone moved off the road.

I sat in the dark for a week after Katrina and Rita. Deal with it.

where you at? i just went 36 hours without it. i had a generator for my refrigerators and freezers, but that was it.

i ran one line over to the widow woman next door. she's on a fixed income and she would've lost all of her food.

still about 100 thousand in memphis without power. for some it will take a week get to get it back.

I'm always surprised at the people who will buy a generator right before or right after a power outage (usually caused by a natural disaster), but then turn right around and sell it not long after because they aren't using it much. Bought mine from someone doing this very thing.

Newsflash, you may not need it much, but it sure comes in handy when a lengthy power outage comes along.

I wrote off the refrigerator stuff. Last night only food joint with power was a chinese place about a mile? and a half from the house so i walked up there and waited thirty minutes for food. No rice and they were packed. It was weird walking in total darkness by flashlight.

Solar panels. Battery backup. Lower prices. Power when you want it and much more than a generator will provide.

Hotels are full and were already mostly full with oil field workers.

It is not too bad.

No curfew and the outages are spotty abiut half the town is still dark. But where it is dark there are quite a few trees down over power lines.

The big tree on this street a block long dead end has power lines wrapped around the trunk.

I hate typing on a phone. I may go back to my office which has power.
