The beatles are just like the bands of today. It doesn't require talent. It just needs support from the music industry, which uses a bit of sociology/psychology on the dumb kids to market their sound and image, which makes the band popular.
Usually, whatever you learned to like as a kid, will stay with you for life, everytime you think about the nostalgia of "the good ol' days". That's why Vladimir Lenin once said, "Give me four years to teach the children, and I will sow a seed that will never be uprooted."

quote:Until they met Dylan in 1964, they were exclusively on liquor and (quasi) legal speed. He showed them pot and they almost immediately switched to it exclusively. That lasted for less than year until they discovered LSD, but I think they would tell you the pot made them much more open to LSD.
Dylan was a dealer?

r “In My Life” by Lennon actually solely written & composed by one or the other)
But you are right - George was forged in the fire of having to do his shite mostly on his own. Neither Paul nor John gave nearly as much attention to fine-tuning and improving George's offerings as they did each other's. He was much younger and oft-ignored. It was likely a double-edged sword: he ended up with a far lower yield than he might have with greater tutelage BUT he learned to be great on his own.

quote:Certainly this is just shiny bait trolling, but in case not: perhaps the most preposterous sentiment ever shared on this board. The Beatles WERE NOT supported by the music industry. They dragged the industry kicking and streaming TO THEM. Literally, Capitol Records in the US declined to distribute their earliest singles.

As for the claim that they are talentless, I have some advice: it's permissible to have an unexpressed thought. Keep that in mind and hit the showers.

George wrote the best songs of any of the Beatles
Eh.
When he hit, he hit. (Something, WMGGW, Here Comes The Sun, My Sweet Lord) but his entire catalog is inconsistent at best..

He was always my favorite. And his best solo work stands with anything the Beatles released.

One day she met a musician at work that she felt she would have a better life with, so she left my buddy. She met the musician, George Harrison, in 1974 and married him in the late 70's. She stayed married to him until he died. She became a wealthy philanthropist. My buddy never saw or spoke to her again after the split.
Im going to say this, and then i might regret it.. but if there is any one person on earth that i might not mind losing a woman to- it would be a Beatle.. there is no other politician or movie actor or musician or athlete where i would say ‘ok i get it’.. if that makes me a cuck, then so be it.. InB4 ‘no you were already a cuck !!11!’
So if i ever wind up being cuckolded by an octogenarian Paul or Ringo- then i guess i wont be able to complain .
