Isn't Atlanta's racial makeup about the same as NOLA's?

That's what I am getting. I was arguing Winkface and tiger08 because I thought they were saying the city needs to "fix up" the area. I responded that they are. But it's still "ghetto". Canal may have black people hanging out on it, but it's not "ghetto".
The city is majority black you can't come in and say "we want a downtown that only appeals to white people"

yeah, people from the ghetto. Canal Street is shite. There are a few good stores,a few good restaurants, but it's still a majority of just plain crap.

wait until the medical complexes open and property values up Canal start to rise. We are already seeing it, anyone who has looked at home values in mid city sees it.

10 people wouldn't have been shot if these two guys crossed paths on a ghetto corner. You have so any victims b/c of where the shooting happened.
How many times have there been a mass shooing at a movie theater or school in NOLA ?

Clean up= get rid of the t-shirt, souvenir shops, replace with restaurants, nice upscale bars, condos etc, bring in businesses that create decent paying jobs and attract middle to upper class tourist and locals.
get rid of the loitering, hanging out on the corners, in front of Popeye's, McDonald's and corner convenience stores, put these people to work.

thats what I'm saying...we are waiting...hence why I said we still have a long way to go.
Once the med complexes start thriving we will be closer to where we need to be...but we arent there yet...it's going to take some time.
