The swat roll is happening in Lincolnshire, which is pretty much the worst neighborhood on the westbank. That area has 1500+ sq ft houses for less than $20K that have been sitting on the market for months. Not at all surprising that a swat team would be called out there.
I was working a few streets over from there last week, and the wank doesn't have anything on New Orleans

Its been a while since I have been in Memphis, but I recall Beal St having checkpoints at the entrances.

I wouldn't really call them "check points." They put barricades up for a certain stretch of Beale Street to prevent through traffic, and there are typically cops standing around these barricades. I have never seen them search anybody coming onto Beale.

My biggest fear isn't getting shot in the French Quarter- it's tripping on the uneven sidewalks. It seems every time I visit the FQ I see at least two people trip and get a face full of pavement.

Instead the city is replacing all light bulbs with LED lights. Wonderful.

That comes from grant money for energy efficiency totally unrelated. Just like SWB people can't make arrests, only destroy roads.

1000 to 1 Better chance a cop fricks with me for no reason and makes me drop my pizza than you getting shot in the face.

I've been on that side. I know about the bolognoa on Tulane and Broad and the Pig Fat sausage with caraway seeds in gretna.

Sucks. Can lose hours of your life or days behind nothing at all.

Lincolnshire and that area off of Desthrehan in Harvey are the worst in JP, but there are parts of Algiers that look like Iraq.
Especially in Aurora and at the beginning of Wall there is the worst apartment complex in the entire city.
Only time I ever open carried on a job.

A SWAT roll in Marrero ended peacefully Monday afternoon after the man surrendered to deputies.
Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office spokesman Col. John Fortunato said deputies and the Jefferson Parish Coroner's office were serving a protective custody order at a home in the 5800 block of St. John Avenue when they called for the SWAT roll about 12:40 p.m.
Fortunato said deputies were worried the man inside the home might react violently, since they knew he had a military background and several guns.
After activating the SWAT roll, deputies say the man walked out of the home and surrendered peacefully. He is in custody.
"Because of the potential safety issue both for him and for the police, we activated the SWAT team. While we we getting in position, some of the officers observed him come outside with trash in his hands, to put the trash out. He was then taken into custody without incident," Fortunato said.

10th shooting victim may have been one of the shooters but didn't receive treatment?

That's odd that they would find a new victim

They may have just been grazed or took themselves to Tulane or something.

Was there Friday helping out another poster clean out one of those 4-plexes to the right when you turn on Destrehan. Absolute shithole, and I was wondering why the bank even wanted up there doing anything

Wrong. You have to stand in long lines at night and they pat down/wand/ID every person entering Beale St. It takes forever and is annoying. Beale is pretty fun though.
