At the same time condemning people won't do shite in these places. They've been told all their lives they aren't shite. What can you tell them that will make a difference. They see the neighborhood, they see the struggles. But money makes the world go round and you need money to improve your situation. Accumulation takes time but a lot if these kids don't have that sort of time or patience. Not like in the old days. So u need quick money, selling drugs and getting caught up in that life style.

Which is one reason why I would like to see the Black market for drugs go away (by black market I meant the illicit trade in drugs, not skin color)

This has been going on for 2-3 generations now and it just gets worse.
Better education, better parenting would go far.

One thing I see in the ghetto, is shitty parenting. Kids that had kids and then just don't give a shite.

I'm in these people's houses, I see a lot first hand.

But the drug trade in itself isn't the only reason why things are bad.
Some people are too territorial.
That is a HUGE issue in NOLA.

It's a fricking horrible cycle that just contributes to the current problem. Poor schools, poor education, no prospects for a better alternative. Same cycle again and again

The cycle has been in motion since the start of this country. The U.S government is the root if this problem IMO. The country it's self has done no favor to black race. From slavery, to Jim Crow, to the racist housing polices that still persist today. Black people from the beginning of this country have started off disadvantaged. It's hard to pull yourself up when the very government you seek to get approval from conspires to keep you in the gutter

This is frustration from every negative post I've seen about black people. Which on this board happens daily and you can't deny that.

The welfare trap, the war on drugs, which disproportionally arrest black people at a higher rate than any other race in this country, housing policies that effect which public school you can enter. All of that effects your daily life

Yet I twice voted for a black guy for president.

So how come some can overcome and others can't?

I think blaming the system for everything is bullshite.

A lot of the blame needs to go on the community as a whole.
Take care of your kids, love them be there for them and things will get better.

Yes the war on drugs is a failure and it dows affect inner city communities more and hopefully we will see changes in that system eventually.

The same government that pays for people to live and eat and supplies many with assistance yet gets blamed for all the problems.

The descendant's of the enslaved have it a lot better than the decedent's of the ones who stayed in Africa.

I know that comes off as racist but really look at it and think about it.
