Also you may want to go buy a 1000 dollar banger to drive around in.

Would definitely rent a car if you’re going to be here all weekend and parking on the street.

Oh, I hadn't realized it was a Convention Center ending again. Lame. 3 of my family members ride and usually hook me & my hubby up with Extravaganza tickets. I usually skip when it's at the CC, but I need to find out who's playing before I give my connections a no. I could have sworn they usually announce it by this point.

Is there a balcony? That's the safest place to be. Most riders can hit a balcony, except the riders of the ladies' parades (barring the occasional former softball player).

Edit: lolol who downvoted? A weak armed rider that can't hit a balcony or a street pleb that can't score a balcony spot?

Saturday is a rest day.

Do the early Saturday day parades Uptown, go home, chill and rest up for Sunday-Tuesday.

So true. I have made it Thursday and Friday. I have made it Sunday and Monday. Many times.

I have never ever seen Endymion or Zulu

We’ve done the extravaganza a few times and the Endy parade a few times and Zulu a few times when the kids where young but frick all that nonawdays.

We go hard during the first weekend and second weekend then shut it down after the second Saturday parades and chill till Sunday.

Monday is another rest day then we’ll do Rex Tuesday and that’s a wrap. frick those truck float parades.

We always did Orpheus and Proteus. Never seen a truck parade (on purpose- accidentally walked by one once)

No matter what your personal preference, it is weird that Zulu, for all their resources, resues floats from Mandeville's Eve parade with no changes to fit their theme except rarely changing out the figure on the front, sometimes. Zulu isn't broke; where is their money going? o_O

Zulu is a very inexpensive krewe to ride in...now that being said, this is a very old practice...

back when Christ was a Corporal and Methuselah was a road guard, the 4 West Bank parades (Choctaw, Alla, Grela, and Poseidon) did the same thing....Choctaw paraded first, and over the two weekends, the floats would be in the different parades with a different sign...

Hell, Ed Muniz started Endymion with rented floats...

BTW are you such a right effing cow about things other than Mardi Gras?

They come with a buffet and open bar. If that’s cheaper than the the floor, which is a river of pee after the first hour, I’ll take it.

I meant the floor level of the Extravaganza. It’s too hard to get to the bathrooms from the center tables once the parade starts rolling through, so people don’t bother.

The second level with tables, catering and bars and bathrooms is pretty hard to beat

The floor sucks...I've literally seen men and women peeing in ice buckets because they couldn't get across to the bathrooms
