It is an art, for sure. You can practice on all sorts of stuff, though.
I’ve got a few older models I think I’ll practice on.

Are you familiar with Micromark?
No. But I’ll check it out.

Darth, remove the German vehicles before you get accused of being a Nazi sympathizer.

LOL. Believe it or not this is an issue on Facebook in some of the model groups. Every so often someone reports a post or the Facebook police notice it, delete it, and send a warning. Some manufacturers have even stopped including swastika decals. I’m a stickler for historic accuracy though so I have a sheet of aftermarket decals for kits that don’t come with them.

Nice work Darth ;)
I’m currently finishing up a Tamiya 1/12 Williams FW14B, and have a 1/12 Ducati on deck, along with a Master Grade Gundam RX-78-2. Four or so projects in the pipeline.

They have a huge selection of all sorts of hobby tools and supplies. You can look at their website or request a catalog. They will send catalogs if you order something. They are good because they have catalog-exclusive sales. They have everything you need for anything small-scale hobby related.

Very nice work, Mr Thompson.

I’m between replying to this thread I’ve been checking them out. Looks really good. Thanks for the heads up.

There is a scale model show every year in Huntsville that alot of military model builders go to. They have a show/judged competition. Some of the dioramas they build are amazing. There used to be a good one in the Vestavia Hills area, too, but it didn't happen for a year or two and I don't know if it ever came back.

I prefer to buy them locally at places like The Model Box, Homewood Toy & Hobby, and Oak Mountian Hobby. I also order some from Amazon or other online hobby sites that can’t find locally.

No problem. They're good. I even have some of their actual tools. I needed a smaller arbor press, and ended up buying theirs. Good customer service and shipping times, too. Though, I haven't bought much from them in "Covid Times".

I wish they’d start the one up on Vestavia again. I don’t think any of my work is worthy or on the same level of what some guys do. But I enjoy doing it.
