With all the cold weather in the south my temperature is stuck on my truck to 19 degrees and now my AC will not blow cold. It has heated up a bunch since this morning and it is clearly not 19 degrees. Is there anyway I can clean this sensor because I suspect it might have a piece of ice stuck to it or be dirty. Also, how do I replace it? TIA

Check the incabulator module for a ground fault.

You’re welcomed in advance.

Clean the sensor. Sounds like you already know the answer. Should be behind the grille.

Maybe. Most are behind the grille though.

Most F150 IAT is typically in the grille or intake plumbing. I don’t believe there is a separate sensor for outside temps which is why your temp can show very high in summer idling conditions.

After you do the cleaning and if it still doesn't work, try disconnecting the battery overnight and try it again. Sometimes that helps reset electrical stuff.

Have an old Tundra with 220,000 miles. Manual controls and everything works great. Can’t help.

It’s in the RH mirror. If the temp hasn’t gotten above freezing, it’s got moisture in there and it’s frozen. Pray the sensor isn’t bad, if it is you have to buy the mirror assy.

Possibly the ugliest truck ever created. Looks like an old Dodge Ram reject. Congrats. Must suck knowing you have to ride in that heap each day. But hey, everything works.

Maybe a dumb question, but do you know if you have heated mirrors? I’m pretty sure have to turn on the rear defrost button for them to activate. That should clear the ice out.
