That is if that’s what actually ends up looking like once they start hitting the lot.
The pictures are the actual production car we are well beyond the concept, camo-mule and render stage.

Over on corvetteforum.com, they had a picture of the new vette in a bright light blue. Car looked fantastic. I'm not a Chevy guy but this new vette will appeal to alot more than traditional Corvette owners. If GM doesn't skimp on quality, I can see the potential for more sales.
There is nothing in the current price range to rival it. If GM was really smart, they'd make a right hand drive model and sell it overseas.

They are it was announced during the reveal.
The interesting thing is the C7 really had nothing to rival it in track performance at its price point(s). Outside of the Z06 going into limp home mode after a few laps on the track, it was an excellent track car. The newfound interest about the Corvette is basically about where the engine is mounted and the accompanying exotic looks than performance numbers at least to the people that actually know and understand the numbers.

Things will get VERY interesting when the performance models hit with rumored DOHC flat plane crank, Twin Turbo model DOHC , and the top dog with all the above plus electric motor.

A 6.2L LT7 with a FPC and TTs could easily top 1K hp. The flat plane crank would help it breath better and move the redline up to over 8K. Built as a NA motor it could easily top 650hp. The big issue if they build a 900hp plus monster is going to be cooling along with obviously traction. Getting 1K on the test stand is a non-issue packaging it in a road car and keeping it cool is a serious technological mountain to climb. I hope they are climbing it as we speak.

Yep. For a while their goal has been to hit or top 1,000 HP with the electric motor version. It remains to be seen, but will be interesting to watch play out.

You know that was primarily in the 2015 cars, right? It was one of the reasons I didn't buy the car in 2015, but it was hard to pass up 5yr/100K warranty on a track car.
They weren't getting adequate cooling and the later redesigns basically cured that.

Lots of old guys bitching about the death of the FE car.
Got some racers over there too, though.

The F-type is just fricking beautiful. A basketcase of a car, but beautiful. Seeing one on every corner probably cuts down on the exclusivity that owning a Jaaaaag once had.
Never had any issues with the one I had and the wife's XF was a solid car for 9 years.
Those SUVs are everywhere now though.

Own a 2015 Z06 LZ3 and there ain’t shite on the highway that keep up with it, no cooling issue driving for a long period of time...
evidently there were issues on some of the fleet but not all....

You had an XF for 9 years?
Good to know that they stepped up their game. I like the new Jaguar styling language.

There was also a good number of bad auto trannys. The resolution was tranny fluid flush x3 and if that didn't work, change the torque converter.

I had an 2015 F-Type R for 3 and I bought her a new 2010 XF in 2009.
Would buy again, but the XF is long in the tooth.
Looked hard at the F-Pace SVR for her, but it wasn't out in time.

It had to be a hot day on a hot track, I don't recall a lot of guys having issues with the car as DD.
You're probably still under warranty.

That is good news. Looked at an F type last year and just figured I didnt want the hassle with repairs. Didn't really look deeper, but glad to know it is reliable (relatively).

Development of the seventh generation Chevrolet Camaro has indeed been delayed, but a new report states that the company is not planning to discontinue the model.

Yes, mainly a 2015 issue but I saw the issues persist in later years in person. There were also continued mentions of it as well as the tranny issues. Great car but they had some Achilles issues. You can't deny it was a horrible black mark when associated with the track-focused model.
That said tracking almost all the exotics can be an exercise in frustration and wallet lightening. It is one of the advantages to the 911, while (unless you are privileged to own a GT2 RS) they may not be the fastest they are a car that you can hot lap all day change tires, oil, and brake pads and come back and do it over again the next day.
That said 99.9% of Vette buyers (as well all other sports car buyers) care far more about 0-60 times than if they can hot lap for 20 mins without overheating.

Ok cool. Didn’t know that. I’d drive it like I stole it then.

Tracking any car that you're trying to drive regularly on the street is a tough deal.
Besides eating tires and brakes, you have to be concerned about skinning it with no insurance coverage. Notwithstanding it really isn't nearly as safe as it should be with the lack of a cage.
May as well invest in a purpose-built racecar even if it is a lowly C5.
