One of these manufactuerers is going to wake up one day and realize most people don't want frilly trucks and go back to the basics. They could build a robust and simple 4x4 3/4 ton truck - with a diesel engine - for under 35k. When this finally happens, they'll destroy the rest of the market.

ahh... but actual statistics suggest they do. the majority eats up the frilly trucks. you're more than welcome to buy any econoline version of any diesel truck of your choice.

It was an auto review team called TFL Truck. Their 2017 F250 imploded while conducting a towing test.

The video is also total bullshite considering their claiming the 17' 250 to be a diesel when clearly it's a gas burner. You put "20,000 lbs" as they claim behind any of the big 3 single cab base model gas burners and tow that amount of weight up a mountain and obviously it's bound for failure. Typical "snowflake" propaganda promoting false narratives. Nice try-

GMC's Denali line is the most profitable, on a per unit basis, individual vehicle line in the world.
GM is about to make the brand even more separate from Chevrolet by adding more upscale features that won't be available on Chevrolet.
Customers want upscale, they don't want base trim trucks.

Never understood the reason why they want to take weight from the one part of the truck where it's really needed.
