16.4 predictions? I think HSPU's will be part of it....

The standards for HSPUs were very shady last year. If we see them again this year, I'd hope they clear it up. As for 16.4, I expect wallballs paired with something else(possibly deadlifts and/or box jumps.

ETA: I got 87 on 16.3. I probably could have gotten 90-95 had I chose to redo.

So, I saw that a lot of people in the Crossfit world are upset that the tasks are so difficult this year. I figured they would love the challenge.

I'm not sure what people are complaining about. There's an RX'd division and a scaled division. If you can't do the workout RX'd, just scale it. I don't think the tasks this year have been any harder than previous years.

Gotcha. I'm not too familiar with Crossfit but I saw the complaints on Facebook and I googled to see if other people were upset over it, and they were. So much that one guy who owns a gym wrote an article telling them to stfu and up your game.

It hasn't been that difficult. The only "difficult" move was a muscle up. I can't wait to see pistols and watch the weenies explode. People will complain about anything.

Agree, I haven't seen anything too extreme yet that hasn't made me completely turn away from an RX wod and I would consider myself an intermediate

How do you "scale" a muscle up?

I almost joined once, but then I figured out I could watch those YouTube videos that induce seizures and do the same jerky motions at 0% of the cost

The only movement that we haven't seen before besides bar muscle-ups was overhead walking lunges. I'll admit, those were a little awkward. However, the weight was really light and easy to adjust to after getting warmed up.

Typically you'll just do pull ups instead

I believe the scale for the bar muscle up was a pull-up.

Funny, I haven't heard anyone complain about it. People have seemed to like the workouts in my experience.

Jumping chest-to-bars. Honestly, my only complaint about the open this year is that the scaled versions have been TOO scaled. But I'm doing Rx anyway so it doesn't really matter to me.

I think the complaints are how easy the scaled versions are compared to RX. Honestly, the scaled versions are way too easy. If you're stuck in the middle, you'd probably getting frustrated with how little effort you have to put into the scaled workout.

the scaled for bar muscle up was a jumping chest to bar pullup. top of head is measured 6" from bar. Must jump and touch bar with chest

this. Last year scaled was geared more for intermediate. This year it is flat out for novices.

Lester, did you do it scaled or did you grind out any muscle ups? I had plenty of people that got their first bar muscle up last week. It was very fun to watch.

i attempted to get the MU's, but failed. I chicken winged a bunch and nearly got up, but my right shoulder has problems internally rotating. I couldnt quite get my right side up and over. which is weird cause that is my dominant arm. My form obviously needs to be cleaned up, those were my 1st attempts ever. i didnt even practice in warm ups, i didnt want to waste any bullets in case i was able to do them

Just keep practicing and they'll come to you. I only did about three during warm up. I certainly know what you mean by wasting them. It's that delicate balance between warming up and wearing out.
