Minneapolis police officers are leaving the department in droves.
Nearly 200 officers have filed paperwork to leave the force because of what they claim is post-traumatic stress, said Ronald F. Meuser Jr., a lawyer representing the officers, according to a report by the New York Times on Tuesday. Around 20% of a department of around 850 people could soon be gone.
The news comes nearly two months after George Floyd, a 46-year-old black man suspected of using a fake $20 bill, was killed during an arrest by four police officers, sparking protests around the nation against racial inequality and police brutality.
They are going to have to hire a lot of social workers to replace them all.

how is that a bad thing. Sounds like 200 officers with integrity that would be a welcome addition to any force that has decent leadership and a town to support them.

Nah, I'm far from anti cop, but aren't their departments kind of known for being full of POS?

In all seriousness, the midwest has some pretty serious racism issues. I'm sure their police force is no different.
But they are losing 200 cops so far since the insanity started. I'm sure many if not most of them are excellent at what they do.

Pardon my ignorance, but why do they have to apply to quit?

I think they're claiming a form of PTSD based disability, not just up and quitting.

I've had one run in with a cop when I was younger and I was the POS. I'm 50 now and don't really expect to have any more. Don't be a POS and chances are you won't have to worry about any POS cops.

So you can have more cops to suck off?

Minneapolis is a shite hole and clearly poorly policed with no checks and balances. Keep those fackers away from my city.
