Chris graduated with me from Jesuit (we are both 43). His younger brother, who was a physician, was killed while cycling in New Orleans a few years ago. I believe the physician that was murdered was their uncle.

The other Urologist in that clinic noted in the nearby from page 1, Dr. Stephen LaCour, also graduated Jesuit with us.

I don't know any Goodiers.

Goodier is the last name of the doctor who died a few years back in a bicycle accident on River Road (his name was Colin and he was from NOLA.) I would guess they are somehow related, the one killed today possibly a grandfather or great uncle. Goodier isn't a common name.

This was collin goodiers uncle. They are my neighbors and truly tragic what has happened. We are still in disbelief that thus happened to him. Truly a great man and great doctor. Will be missed.

The article made it sound as if the shooter walked right into a treatment room and shot the doctor. Doesn't sound like drug seeking to me.

didn't we just have a murder-suicide type event a few weeks back where a doctor got murdered?....

seems kind of odd to hear about such a thing so frequently.

Col. John Fortunato, a Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesman, identified the killer Thursday night as John P. Thomas, 73, of Kenner. He said Thomas had no prior criminal history but, according to family members, suffered from a mental illness. A family member said Thomas was a patient of Goodier, Fortunato said.

I saw that. That's why I didn't want to throw a name out until I was 100%

Your last comment makes no sense whatsoever. You don't want to give a name because you want to be 100% sure, but you said the shooter was an M.D. not only once, but twice.

Because sinister doesn't know anything about this.

Neither do I, but, I'm not posting on a message board the killer was a doctor then editing it out.

What part of that don't you understand? I didn't make it up. I heard from a hospital employee that the shooter was another doctor. Gave a name and all. I didn't want to post the name I heard incase the info wasn't correct, which it wasnt.

The shooting didn't happen in the hospital so why would an employee there know anything???. Nice spreading of unsubstantiated rumors there, bucko.

I'll take the bashing. I deserve it. At least I didn't put up an incorrect photo of the victim though.

For future record, you could trust a crack addict for accurate info more than a hospital worker
