Statistics and math at work. They are all responsible gun owners, until they aren't.
You and the mental midget you quoted clearly don't need to be talking about statistics.

We have different definitions of the word accident.
Prayers for the family.

I'm sure this sounded like a super clever zinger in your head.

that's terrible.

Ditto.
But why do their pics appear to be mugshots. DO they have a criminal history?

Eye witness claimed it was accidental, no argument preceding the shooting, etc.
It's collateral damage for the right to own handguns in this nation until it happens to someone in your own family.

Yeah, when you realize they were adults and not kids.

This long beat to death statistic has several flaws. Most people would agree suicide using a firearm is not a accidental firearm fatality remove those incidents from your statistic and it is no longer valid. Another flaw is that this statistic only counts fatalities when a firearm is used in the protection of a individual or family members. In most cases of successful self defense using a firearm a shot is never fired.

I know they are saying not intentional, but you pointed a gun and you pulled the trigger. That is pretty intentional.
Never point a gun at something you don't want dead. No matter how unloaded it is.
Just don't do it.

Just out of curiosity, where does this statistic come from?

He pointed a gun at him and pulled the trigger. It was stupid, but it wasn't an accident.

No one in my family and non of my friends would point a gun at someone unless they intended to use it.

Roughly 300 million guns in U.S. So yea that sounds legit. Pretty much every house with a gun ends up with a death in the family.

The part about this story that doesn't jive the most is that the guy killed himself after accidentally shooting his brother? Who would react this way? Something else is going on here to be sure.

Exactly.. "Oh frick, I shot my brother! Guess I should kill myself now!"
That dog don't hunt. Sorry.
