Read closely: frick Twitterverse.

Not talking to the merits of the issue, but Twitter sensitivity is destroying this country.

By whom? Starbucks? And for what? People are arrested all the time and charges get dropped. You don't seem very smart.

Actually, the fact that there are no charges for resisting arrests or assault proves it for me. These two idiots weren't violent in any way. They were just stupid.

Wrong. Prove to me the same result would have happened with 1-7 officers....

You can't. So once again, your statement that 8 officers were excessive has zero proof at all

All we know for certain is that 8 officers did lead to a peaceful arrest

If these 2 guys want to loiter and not give business they should go find a gas station in the hood where those things are tolerated

Starbucks obviously has a policy and it’s strickly enforced

Yes, an officer backing up another cop. Why are you saying anything about race to me? I did not mention race at all. Nor is it on my mind. Take that race crap to someone else who brought it up. It should be easy to find on this board. You do know that people go to coffee shops all the time and grab a seat without ordering and while waiting on someone else to arrive, don’t you? This is a bad look for Starbucks and the police. Starbucks has already admitted that they made a mistake.

And since you brought up race with me, blue is thicker than black.
And no, I am not an idiot? Are you?

Really odd how hard it can be to please some people.

You send 2 and it goes south? It should have been handled differently.

YOU send more and nothing happens?
It should have been handled differently.

You are absolutely an idiot if you think in anyway this is a bad look for the police

Unless it is of your opinion police should not do their jobs

See how that works?

Wrong. We know for certain these guys didn't resist arrest or act violently towards anyone. Lack of charges is proof.

And for all the people saying "I have done this and they didn't say anything to me",

I would bet anyone saying that has never been to Philly. I'm surprised they didn't need to get a code to get in the bathroom. Every establishment I visited in philly required a code or key to get in the bathroom.

Why? Because the two men asked to leave where black?

Yep. I bash cops on here when they deserve it

But this thread is living proof they really are in a thankless no win situation with some people

So why should these 2 real estate tycoons be treated any different?
Well I think it's a case of them not enforcing the policy consistently. There are hundreds of tweets from white patrons stating that they have visited Starbucks locations without ordering and have never been asked to leave. You have some in the Philly area saying that they've visited that location, not ordered and weren't asked to leave so...............

Right. Because people are praising them all over the Internet. There are not thousands upon thousands of comments criticizing them and Starbucks for their actions. There are no articles in the Philadelphia area criticizing the actions. LMAO.

What the cops could have and should have done is speak to the manager and do some conflict resolution informing the manager that someone is on the way to meet them here for coffee.

For you to claim "excessive" at all let's me know you should never be taken serious in a thread about cops.

Looks like everything was handled properly & nobody died.

What's the issue?

When did I say I wasn't pleased? I'm perfectly happy that nothing came of this, but you're never going to convince me that more cops are needed for every single situation.

The only people who aren't pleased are the ones who are butthurt that a random person on the internet thinks it was a bit excessive for 8 cops to arrest 2 non-violent perps.

They did that. The original officers spoke with the manager and the two men

The original officers then called their supervisor who came and who also spoke to the manager....

At this point, the manager still asked the supervisor to please arrest the two men who refused to leave

Keep in mind, the time that must have taken place for the men to use the restroom, the employees to call the original cops, And then the original cops to call their supervisor to show up....

And when the manager asks for the two non paying customers to leave, the supervisor at this point has to do job. He did what his duty is.
