A Walkman must have cost about ten grand in 1979.

I see the link to the 6/10/79 concert in a post up the page. On 7/13/1978, the Stones played the Superdome with the Doobie Brothers and Van Halen as openers. Van Halen was an unknown and stole the show.
Sometime in 78 or 79, Prince played the Warehouse on the West Bank. I heard he had hair down to his arse and played the whole show in tighty whiteys.

I was in the attic of my new place yesterday and found a 1979 Mardi Gras poster and it made me stop and think: man, it would have been great to live back then. Easy living in a simpler time and you didn’t even know it.

I think that same tour the Stones played in Orlando with VH opening. My brother went, but my parents wouldn't let me go because I was only 15.
