1976 swine flu outbreak

This was going to be a pandemic.
Government rushed out a vaccine. One problem. It caused a lot of cases of Guillain-Barré Syndrome. 25% of the population received the vaccine before the government shut it down.
All those Boomers y'all whine about? We lived...Never missed a day of work or school.
It never even interfered with the Bicentennial celebrations. Think of it as the 4th of July that lasted for months.
Forgive us for not panicking. This is not our first rodeo.
