Is this the thread all of y'all are congregating to so you can feel better about being forever alone?

Sounds like some nut I dated a few years back. When I asked what she was going to lsu for, she said to get her Mrs. I said oh ok and just tried to think what the hell degree it was. When it hit me, I was just sitting there like holy shite she was dead serious

She's now with some poor sap who clearly thinks that kind of logic is okay.

it did kind of open up a new angle to me...how these writers perpetuate the idea that relationships are slavery and terrible

I've known a lot of people, men and women, who maintain terrible relationships because it's familiar and comfortable. To those people the relationship is slavery, but relationships don't have to be, and truly should not be, anything like that. I mean, long term relationships require some stubbornness and sacrifice but they should not be a perpetual martyrdom.

I came to terms with forever alone years ago. But I don't want G4 to feel bad about herself.

Sucks for that dude.

I'm happy I found a girl who's relatively sane.

That's pretty ballsy that she just came out and told you that.

I knew a girl who graduated from lsu in Elementary Ed. Apparently she flat out told her instructor that she wasn't planning on teaching for a very long time. Because Pete was graduating in petroleum engineering and would be supporting them.

She got engaged three months after he graduated.

She was some super rich girl that has never been told no in her life. I wasn't too shocked once I got to know her better

G4 will be fine. She's just got some wild oats to finish sowing.

I actually dated a woman like this in BR. I was between marriages and she was a bit older. She had been married twice to men not her equal. I liked her a lot, but I wasn't ready to deal with a teenager.

Can we get an OT consensus on what's preferable: a woman who is responsible and makes good money ( ie more of a feminist) or a woman who Doesn't work or does menial work and wouldnt be able to support herself but is better around the house (ie less of a feminist)

Well what constitutes an empire? Building a large chain of McDonalds restaurants? Being the most productive member of your junior league committee? Having more shoes in your closet than on the shelf at a Macys? What is building an empire for a single old woman?

She had her own, very successful business.

"Empire" would be stretching it, tbh.
