It could be a blessing, you'd get a ton of sympathy, disability check from the government, and it would be like having a pet to take care of and love.

Great. You've caught the worst desease of all...WFW. Also known as White Female Worryworts.

Get rid of basic cable soon before you start watching ridiculously massive hours of Nancey Grace and start spouting off phrases like "if it can to them it can happen to anyone".

It’s not like getting the flu during the first trimester gives your baby a major chance of developing microcephaly
No, it gives your baby a major chance of retardation, death, etc etc
quote:

There have been thousands of babies (maybe TENS of thousands) born with this due to mosquito transmission in South America
Only because those countries werent tracking Microcephaly at all before. Their true rates have not risen that much. For example, the USA with a population of 300 million averages 25,000 new cases of microcephaly a year. Brazil, which has a population of 200 million, claims they only had 147 cases in 2014 So, in reality, their new numbers for microcehaly arent truly the uptick they are presenting.

We are shooting for Cancun in October, but may be about the time we start trying for #2. I'm not "worried", but this will definitely play a role in our plans.

Only approximately 1300 of those have been confirmed congenital cases due to Zika in Brazil. PAHO reports a large proportion of the suspected cases have been ruled out as occurring for reasons other than Zika.

I'm not saying it isn't something that we need to be concerned about. We certainly do but I don't like seeing numbers blown out of proportion.

I said people who are trying to get pregnant and in first trimester should wear big spray and sleeves on the southern coast and shouldn't travel to South America until vaccine comes out. Most things I've seen have said the same thing.

Sorry that's chicken little

There are a million things you worry about when you're pregnant. I'm super glad I didn't have to worry about this on top of everything else.

The second paragraph in your link seems to be important to me....

The CDC, in a conference call, said that so far fewer than a dozen of the infected pregnant women it has tracked in the United States and Puerto Rico have had miscarriages or babies born with birth defects.
For that Obama wants over a billion dollars?? And there's no guarantee it will even make a difference??
