Did a track day in a GT3, was about $700. 10% deductible.

Wait, why do laps cost more or less in certain vehicles?

That is to rent the CAR as well as gas and lap ticket. Tickets on lapping days are the same price for any car, like $30 for a single lap when I was last there and you get volume discounts. I always rent all inclusive cars which include gas and lap tickets. It also has some level of insurance but I always buy extra insurance so I am only out 500-2000 if I write off a car. Most of the rental car companies at the Ring have a deductable of about 50% of the replacement cost for the car, you need to cover that with 3rd party. You can also rack up a bill by breaking the racetrack, Armco can get expensive.
I don't know how insurance for Euro residents work, the track is actually considered public roads. It is safe to say you can really post a bill if you aren't careful.
This is why I shy away from cars above my ability, even if I drive them or own them in the states. Plus the 'Ring is a FAST track, even going bridge to gantry on lapping days there are 3 really fast areas that you can EASILY screw up.

So the track insurance was $700 or the car rental?

That would just be track day insurance.

I just couldn’t track my car, I’ve heard some stories from my local car club. The dealer I purchased my car from told me he goes through a set of tires about every 3 weekends. I didnt ask if he was using specific track tires

So many people buy Skylines when stationed in Germany
We've toyed with the idea of moving there for a few years.
I'm in if I get to take the Z06.

It isn't cheap but it doesn't cost more than a bunch of other man hobbies. The faster you get the more money you spend on tires and brakes. I go and come from hobbies and they all seem to cost about the same and that same tends to be all my personal (non-family) disposable income. Doing DPDEs is actually one hobby where you learn direct life skills that could actually be very helpful one day.
