Do you know something we don't? Did these parents intentionally kill their kid?

From the link at the bottom of page 2

quote:

Even though he was still in bed after 2 p.m. on Tuesday under a pile of blankets in their unheated mobile home in Conroe, Tex., Maria Elisa Pineda wasn’t concerned when she checked on her son. After all, Cristian Pavon, 11, was known for sleeping in, his mother told Univision.

quote:

“He was okay,” Pineda told Univision. “He had dinner, he played and he went to bed.”

quote:

By 11 p.m., after having dinner and playing, the boy was already in bed with his 3-year-old stepbrother. At some point during the night, the boy’s stepfather woke up to check on both children, who were still responsive,

quote:

The 3-year-old boy did not suffer any injuries, Pineda said.

I put my kids to bed in a 40 something degree house this week. I didn't know what would happen or what the temp actually was or would be. I have a few more resources than someone who lives in a trailer. I review our situation and think maybe we lived only because I had better insulation or a fireplace in my bedroom. Not sure I did anything more extravagant to protect my kids other than be in a better economic class.

I dont know the.details. but if parents had viable options, instead of tucking in a kid at 12 degrees for 2 days, then they shouldn't be parents
Regardless, the supplier holds interest in neglect if their actions caused harm thru neglect.

And I'm sorry, its neglect if you try and say "oops, were all out of that electricity "
There is NO WAY they haven't thought "what if" and ran thru this .
They decided not to spend more to upgrade capacity, all in the name if profit.

Govmmnt regulates this. Why would it be so hard to have a regulation in place demanding you are able to supply every home in your service area at full capacity, especially in emergencies.
They get protected areas by regulation. Therefore, customer has no options.

OK, I was being sarcastic.

The electric company. Neglect? They do as they will. THeyre a corporation. In the biz of making money. Dont care who is affects. Why should they? If you run a business, do you care if person whos buying your product is struggling to buy it at the same price the millionaire is buying it? I see no way electric comp gets sued for this.

Parents? Life in prison. Period. You mean to tell me they couldnt start a fire in the goddamn bathtub with pots of snow to throw on it if it got a little crazy? Or go in the car and run the heater on for 30min every cpl hrs? You sound like youre one of those bottom feeders with their hand out? Expecting someone else to pay for your illegitimate decisions. Alton Sterling, is this you?

If you need to blame anybody try the Texas Legislature as they are ultimately responsible. Abbott, who I don't care for, is the face of the crisis but is pretty powerless as governorships go

How cold was it in that part of Texas? I know trailers aren’t close to what my house is insulation wise and what not but how cold was it outside to be 12 degrees inside? And even with crap windows, doors and walls would it get to the same temp as outdoors??

Prayers for that young child’s family. I can’t imagine.

Same here. Didn't really like it either. But she woke up and took all of her warm clothes off and put on her elsa dress...so I think she was okay

Right, whoever regulates the power company is the first place to start. Power companies release "the grid is fricked, we need more money" reports all the time. Then some commissioner the people elect gets reemed out if customer bills go up 20 dollars a month. But fools will pay 20 bucks a month for their kids to watch disney plus and watch cocomelon. So in theory, everyone is to blame.

North of Houston.

I reside 20 miles south of Oklahoma/Texas border - north, northwest of DFW and we were below freezing for seven consecutive days and have heard of no loss of life.

It was cold, no doubt, in Conroe but more frigid elsewhere. I cannot imagine 12 in a trailer or anywhere to stay in. Our garage didn't get that cold.

They have been awfully quiet and allowing Abbott to take the hits. Their silence is guilt

Yea I’ll wait too

Why would you be waiting for autopsy results for someone you knew froze to death in a mobile home?

I probably wouldn’t even ask for autopsy

Don't you know it and rightfully so in this circumstance. I don't believe I could have imagined as much ineptitude as I have witnessed. We have had zero problems from start to finish and I am upset about the circumstances
