eat better, quit drinking beer and exercise? Cut down on red meat especially things like rib-eye that are high in fat. Eat a lot more vegetables and fruit. Don't do a gimmick diet where you don't eat any carbs or only have shakes all day. You'll just put the weight right back on when you start eating normal food again.
Poor advice. Eating fat does not necessarily make you fat. You're much more likely to get fat eating highly processed grains found in breads. Also avoid anything with added sugar, which includes most breads, cereals, yogurts, etc.

Is cutting down on red meat and cuts of meat that are high in fat a gimmick diet?

Steaks have lots of protein and it takes your body more energy to digest protein.

I didn't say eliminate it all together i said cut down on it and eat leaner cuts. regardless - not a gimmick diet.

Another +1 for P90x3. I'm on round 2, 32 years old & in the best shape of my life. I eat pretty healthy but I drink a lot of beer.
Workouts are hard as hell but only 30 minutes a day. Anyone can plow through that.

yes idiot. pls stop giving gimmicky advice.
eating 1200 calories worth of red meat per day is not going to make any grown able-bodied male fat.
as long as one stays in a calorie deficit, generally speaking, he or she will lose weight.

I'm 42, weight the same since my senior year in HS. Pretty much this -don't drink sodas, very little beer. I do a lot of cycling and running though. Drink a lot of water and no fried foods at all. Desserts 1 or twice a week. Embrace the 40s. ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/Iconcheers.gif)

T25... I've lost due pounds in two weeks, gained balance and flexibly and improved cardio. It's a great workout and takes very little time.

I am in the same boat as you, but I turn 40 in Jan. I am about 40lbs overweight. I am tired of being this big and feeling like a pig, so I joined a small gym called HIT in Lafayette. It's a great workout. The instructor is great. I am a week in and I already feel a bit better minus the soreness. He works the hell out of us, and it's going to pay off. I hope to be at my goal weight of 230lbs by my birthday.
