Is it an older calculator? I remember sometimes having to do it this way. Now when I do 4+2-, I get zero.

I'd make a joke about only old people use these, but then I remembered that I had my dad teach me to use a slide rule because I had a college professor that wouldn't let us use calculators. I asked if I could use a Slide Rule. He said "son, if you know how to use a slide rule, you are more than welcome to do so."

He almost fell out of his chair when I sat down and pulled it out and went to work. Handy too.

I learned it back in high school, but haven't used one since. I'm sure it is like riding a bike though.
