I bet you could get very close to 300 1 rep if you are doing 3 sets of 225x10. when I was 26 I did about that and got 315 for 1 rep and and could get 285 x2 or 3. I was 172 lbs but I'm short with short arms. those days are long gone

The question now is: how much are you lifting these days around your veterinary schedule?
Monday through Thursday, usually from 5pm until 6:15 or 6:30. This includes 30 minutes of running.
Anything else you want to know?

Numbers that get you into the top 15 at the NFL combine!
TE-14
QB-12 (Only one participated)
WR-13
S-11
DL (aka beasts)- 26
LB (Beasts)- 23
CB-15
OL (beasts) - 26
Sweet.
Only DL, LB and OL bench more than me, on average, at 225.

My personal bests (all time):
315 x 18
225 x 38
495 x 1
I've always been more of a rep guy. Did hit 4 x 275 in seated military press too.
the 495 was while weighing 302. The others at 285.

does my club membership still stand from 15 years ago?

Guess that's why so many people love to run huh?

Are these things accurate? I plugged in some numbers trying to figure my 1RM for a new program and the numbers seem awful high.
I'd say it's pretty common for a guy who can do 215 for 5 reps to be able to do 245 for 1. Now, of course, the first time you try, that weight will feel very heavy just as you push it off the bar. But, I suspect if you committed to it, within a week, you'd do it.

No one can take that from you.
By the way, I fluctuate between 170-175 lbs. So percentage wise its pure beast mode.

back when I was young and strong I was strongest at 170-172lbs. i'm 40 now and am at 185 and have beeen off weights for a good 10 years for the most part until January. I would like to get back down to 175 and stay there.

Running is one of the worst things you can do to your body over the long haul.
It'll lead to bad knees and back from the long term pounding.

I think that applies to long distance running. Either way, all the men in my family have always been runners and nobody has any of the problems you speak of. My dad, 75 years old, runs 2-3 miles every other day and wouldn't have a clue what knee/back pain feels like. My orthopedic surgeon (shoulder) has noted that my shorter distance running should be perfectly fine for me long term- I'll take his advice, thanks.
Back to the original topic. So you need a max to monitor progress? Why can't you just use the weight lifted in your normal sets to monitor progress? I guess that number isn't as fun to talk about to strangers though is it?

When I was able to do 225x10, I maxed out at 305 just so I could get over 300 for once in my life.
Just started back working out a few months ago, and can only do 185 for 3 reps now. It sucks being (relatively) weak after a ten year layoff. Muscle memory is great for size, but I'm guessing strength takes a lot longer. Or maybe I'm getting old. 135 for a "warmup" never felt this heavy.

you should probably look into taking some better supplements and put in more work at the gym
Haha I love how some of you act like this is weak and the guy should work out more.
But this is the OT I guess.

That means you'll be benching around 380-390 with the weight you will gain getting there. Good luck.

A little off topic, but I'm curious about some of you "older" lifters and how your strength has been affected with aging. I'm 47 and have gotten stronger into my 40's than I was in my 20's. Granted, I've never been naturally very strong but I've been surprised because I thought I would be regressing at this age.
