He has the build and athletic ability to do it. The question is, as is with all basketball players, does he have the desire to deal with the contact. How we he handle be checked at the LoS when he lines up tight? What about when he goes over the middle and the LBer and/or safety put their shoulder through his chest? And the inevitable CB that takes out his knees when he's in the air catching a jumpball?

There is a mental mindset that is required to deal with these things, and not everyone has it. Especially, if they have not played full contact football at any level (I have no idea whether he has). We saw it first hand with JG as soon as he started getting injured running across the middle.


Edit: With that said, Loomis can pull off a contract that puts most of his money with the Pelicans since the NBA can go over the cap.
