What exactly is he getting away with? In your own words. Complete mediocrity? Underwhelming roster construction? I’d get it if we were over performing. But we’ve kinda sucked in a shitty division.

That is you crying about the cap like the low IQ individual you are

This isn’t for optics and that is silly to look at it that way. It’s an actual gamble that may or may not pay off, I’ll take that any day for a legit DE
I mean it is a bit for optics. The teams social media is taking pics of him signing the deal and posting it everywhere. Not sure if that was done for Cedrick Wilson.

Why was it called guaranteed, initially?

Schefter screwed the reporting up I guess. I believe it was because that money is guaranteed in the sense that we can’t cut him and he not get it.
He must be on the roster or the full amount vests

They have done this for everyone the past few years

The agent told him to say the bigger amount so he did.

but I am sure his agent also considered making sure the team can't just "pack it in" and have him inactive for coach's reasons and save that money.
^this... You'd have to think there's language in his contract protecting him from the saints trying to save money. If he's willing to put his cleats on in any capacity, he's going to get paid. Agents have been running circles around loomis for the past decade. You really think they're gonna leave that kind of money up for grabs

What agents have been running circles around Loomis? All of our big money contracts in the last 10 years have been for proven guys, mostly from our own system. Even guys that were misses (MT13) had more to do with injury than an overpay.

This guy bent loomis over. Didn't even have the decency to buy him dinner first.
Yall dont want to admit this next one...

Carr’s agent? Mickey got screwed by giving Carr a fair market value deal?
Ah yes he really screwed us by agreeing to deals for fricking Drew Brees
Get a grip man

Prox, lets not act like we haven't had this same argument 100 times already. Carr got fired, no one else was interested, we paid top dollar/lots of guaranteed money for a proven mediocre guy who's only had 3 winning seasons in 10 years.

If drew takes a friendly deal like Tom and wins another SB or two, he'd be able to sell twice as many sliders. Instead he sold his soul to the almighty $$$ and Lebron.

Nope, that was on Payton’s bitch arse who couldn’t field a defense until DA came to town
As for Carr, we had no other option. Gotta field a team capable of winning. I’d rather Carr at $30 than Cousins at $45mm

You’re right but why even bother with this mess when you can try to sign some other guys or use the money elsewhere?

The likelihood he even recovers to play or makes an impact is slim to none.

No other interested team would clear him medically?
