Now you lost me...franchise will be 35+ by that time. We'd be lucky to still afford morestead.
its a temporary negotiating tool. Taysom will want long term security. Point was, he isn't going to walk free.

My thing with Hill is, although he is a football player, he needs to learn to play QB in NFL.
Our team is built to win now...Teddy has proven he can win with the team and we can get him for a decent starters contract with the rare luxury of knowing he can be successful in our system.
Hes flashed, but we really dont know that with Hill.

If I'm the GM:
First, I'd let Bridgewater walk. Hopefully, this would line us up for a compensatory pick.
I've heard rumblings of Taysom for a first round pick. I'd tender him the 1st round level and see what happens.
If someone offers a 1, I'd take it.
*Im not trading Taysom for anything but a 1.
Im doing WHATEVER IT TAKES to get Burrow. Lattimore, Kamara, everyone is on the trade table - except Cam Jordan.
Either Burrow, Taysom (if nobody gives a 1), or Burrow and a veteran if someone gives a 1 for Taysom.

Mike Thomas should not be on the table regardless. You do not let a guy like that walk. The rest I could agree with.

I largely agree with Blue
Bridgewater walks
Tag Hill with the highest tender possible and let him play out the tag, if someone wants to give us a 1st for him I agree let him walk and take the 1st
if Hill plays(last year was (4.4 mill) on the tag bring in another Vet like Phillip Rivers just to give him another year to develop behind a high end starter + you still retain the ability to tag him in future years if you decide he is the guy
if Hill is traded use that capital to move up the board and put together a package for Burrow/Tua + then pair with a quality backup option as a mentor
luckily I dont think we have to worry about this as I am almost certain Drew will be back for at least 1 more season

Im with you so far, although Id make it a second

not sure what you mean, the franchise tag??? at which position for 4.4M??? seems like a fight if its anything other than QB

doubt you'll get Rivers, or a quality vet, to come in if hes babysitting the job for a year... at least one thats not just cashing checks

Now you want to franchise him twice...??

"traded"...you mean if we decline to match?...Even if we get a 1st round pick for hill, we really dont have the horses to go up and get him.

I sure hope so

Sign Teddy, bring in Mariota and keep Hill as the gadget guy he is.
Teddy - 3yr ($60M)
Mariota - 2yr ($18M)
Hill - 3yr ($18M)

Tank for Lawrence. Literally throw the damn season. The saints would be set for the next 15+ years with a guy on a rookie contract who could come in and help immediately compete for championships. I am more than happy to watch the saints lose one year in exchange for being set at QB the next 15 years.
This guy gets it

Hill is under contract to play next year
Wrong. Hill is a restricted free agent. The Saints can tender him an offer, and receive compensation if he leaves. The Saints DO NOT have any QB under contract.
