Seems negotiations with the Steelers have stalled and he wants out. Not sure what it would cost pick wise for a trade, but rumors he wants 4 yr 100 mil range for his new deal.

Obviously CB2 is a hole on the roster, even with Riley and Emerson being promising.

We also don’t have much $$ at all committed to the corner room, though we likely have to pay Koolaid after next yr.

I’m not sure if it’s worthwhile as our D desperately needs a DE2 and CB2, but this may not be the year to cash in assets and pay someone like that. Maybe a year early

Well obviously if you land someone like Porter, Koolaid would become CB2

The rumor was actually that he wanted to be paid like the best CB in the NFL (above $35 million a year). The 4 years/$110 million is a projection by reporters. He is nowhere close to the best CB in the NFL.

I mean I wouldn’t be opposed to it. I would say D line especially the interior is a more pressing need. But never say never to talent

Nah. An elite CB doesn’t mean as much as it used to. Certainly a luxury but you can get away with average CB play for the most part.

And I’m not even sure he’s elite. He’s good. But on the Gonzo level? No way.

He is not even close to good enough for the contract he will demand. Pass
