If that's the case, I'd rather roll the dice and win it with Drew. No question.

Drew's experience, knowledge and leadership is on another level. I'm not trading that in right now.

When the Saints signed Drew Brees as a FA, I still wanted Leinart as their draft pick.

When the Saints let Joe Horn walk, I thought it was premature and that he still had some left in the tank.

When the Saints traded up for a punter in Moorestead, I was livid.

When the Saints passed on Jarvis Jones and picked Vacarro, I thought it was the wrong decision (for about five minutes).

Point is, I'm not a visionary like Loomis or Payton. The Saints might end up with some Aaron Rodgers-type as a QB in waiting, and Luck may have peaked by then and started a slow decline into Carson Palmer syndrome.

luck is 24 guys.. dude dosent have 15 more seasons.. he also takes more hits because he scrambles at times.. i say he has 10 solid years left, max.. brees is a lock for 5000 yards for another 3-5 seasons.. i would stick with him. ask me this question in 2-3 years and yes i will take luck.

We have a better chance at winning a SB with Drew on this team the next 5 years, than we would with Luck.

With Luck making a fraction of what Drew makes for the next few years, you'd be able to bring in some sick free agents.

everyone forgets...to get another even...chance at a franchise qb...much less one of the all time greats.. you need a top draft and a horrible season or two. luck keeps the thing going without having to go through that after brees retires---but oh yea frick you blasphemer! breesus!

He becomes an UFA after 2015 and will command top player salary even if he doesn't win a superbowl.

No. Drew is intertwined in everything related to this franchise. Pull him out and there is no guarantee everything doesn't fall apart, even with how good Luck is

This.
Drew is so much IN this org. its hard to calculate the effect of his leaving.
So no. I know what we have with him here and its very good.

While Luck might look like a better long term option at the moment, no. Brees is woven himself into the fabric of the city and the team. His presence moving forward will be just as important as Payton. The QB position is evolving and by the time we replace Drew the most coveted will be what we are seeing on the college level now. More emphasis will be given to the running QB. Brees could also be perfect coach replacement at some point.

After this season? Maybe.

Lol. We gonna pay Luck with Monopoly money?

Sick free agents? You mean players like Keenan Lewis and Jairus Byrd?

However, The Saints have only landed 1 true franchise QB in their entire history and it was almost entirely a complete fluke that it happened.

That's not a correct statement; Archie was a franchise QB...he just didn't have a franchise behind him.

AS for Luck for Brees, I'm assuming Brees has 4 to 5 more good years in him and I'll take that over Luck. Luck is a great young QB but Brees is a proven commodity in the Payton system and 5,000 yards is 5,000 yards.

Franchise qbs usually throw 50 more interceptions than touchdowns
