re: Would you rather Suh have signed with Saints, then we don’t trade up to draft Davenport?

It may take Davenport 3-4 years or so to get use to our 4-3 system. In time he will get use to it. With him playing for UTSA in college, he didn't play the best opponents. Many of his opponents were smaller than him with slow feet.
On the other hand, I would not want an aging Suh; even though he haven't showed any signs o slowing down. I also think that Suh can be a locker room killer as well.
The only thing about the Davenport deal is that we had to give up a 1st rounder next year. I hope he's worth it.

I don’t think Suh was being looked at to solve our pass rushing issues.

I’ll let you know my initial thoughts In about 10-12 weeks or so.

All true, the benefit is how athletic he is and seems to learn at a quick pace with quality coaching (for example day 1 senior bowl vs the actual game was night and day)
Does it guarantee he's going to be a great player? No.
But I feel comfortable saying barring health, he's going to put 5-6 sacks at the very least this year.

quote:I think this alone says a lot. If Suh were to play avg on that contract, we would be in serious trouble. Less trouble than having our first rounder take a year or so to turn into the hulk or atleast an above avg DE.
On the other hand, Suh might shite the bed and be washed up or get hurt/suspended while playing for Rams,

we needed a DE. Im riding on team Davenport. I think he is gonna be a star

Take a stance now so you can be an idiot or genius in a year or two
