I would rather pass on jalen if he is available at this spot. If he falls to the saints in the 2nd round then I would take him. Just don't like the idea of using a 1st round pick on measurables alone. He has good tape, but not 1st round quality tape IMO.

He locked down the best receiver in this class and his tape shows him never-not ever-giving up deep separation. He tackled well and obviously continued to work extremely hard when not starting and being passed up.

Lastly, he ran Melvin Gordon down from beind.

What about his tape downgrades him in your eyes?

Nothing downgrades him. He did his job well but for a first round corner I would want a guy who can do all those things and also have that ability to come up with a big play. Never really saw that from jalen while at LSU.

IMO he will be a solid #2 corner during his NFL tenure

Agree with this.

The more I think about it, the more I feel like Payton is planning to package the picks and jump up to grab one of the big receivers

So..trade your top receiving threat to get a first round pick to trade to get a rookie WR?

Makes perfect sense....

You're acting like we gave up graham for 31. We got the best center in the league

Todd Gurley.

They will address the lb spot in free agency to go along with the TE spot.

We just resigned Ingram. Why in the world would we use an early draft pick on another running back? We have so many other more pressing needs.

not only do the Saints need picks, but they need to draft better

Trading up to draft a WR doesn't address either

I'm probably the only tired of seeing them constantly have 5-6 picks every draft and then whiff on half of them. Look at the teams who consistently get deep in the playoffs. They build thru the draft. The Saints have failed to do that in recent years

Sorry. I just can't get excited about drafting up (again) for a WR. We got a WR last year. They don't win you Super Bowls.

If there is extremely value in the late 1st or 2nd round pick for a WR, then I'm fine with it. If somehow Kevin white is there at 13, I don't see us passing it up either. Not likely though. There's a lot of directions this draft can go with a deep WR and pass rush class.

We are the Saints. Also, we are looking for another one, hence the pursuit of Forsett and Bush. Gurley may be big, but he can catch and pass protect too.

We are getting a corner or two in free agency so I don't think we will go there. I think we go OLB with the first pick so although we have a plan, we go best athlete available and if Gurley or Gordon is available, Payton won't be able to contain himself.

If we sign Forsett or bush I would see it as improbable though.

Of the two, I prefer Gordon.

I agree there. But giving up two picks to move in to the top 10 for a WR is foolish IMO

Essentially you'd be giving up Jimmy Graham, #13 overall, and a 4th round pick for Unger and Amari Cooper. Doesn't sound like great value to me

Yeah I'm with you there. I can see it for someone like Dante Fowler, though.

The top wrs in this year's draft do not address the type of wr we need to be looking for. Also, wr classes are like 50 deep every year.

The first pick will be OLB or a solid o lineman. The next pick could be anything from safety, OLB, or really any position.

We will pursue Tramon Williams hard and I believe get him so I think we will wait to draft a cb later in the draft. Browner also seems like a strong possibility. We need an ILB and an OLB.

Payton will obviously look to get some offense. Clay or Cameron would be ideal at TE, but I really believe he would jump at either Gurley or Gordon in the 1st. Outside of that I think just online and wr are positions we look to fill in the draft.
