With Dennis Allen's coaching style he needs the best kicker and punter in the game.

The punter is bottom 3rd and the kicker was not trusted to kick a 53 yard field goal.

I went to the Carolina game and the punter needs to do better, and Grupe missed his first great opportunity to show his value.

Grupe will be fine. I've been very disappointed with Hedley. Gillikin was slippin a bit but pretty sure we downgraded for sure here. I was just watching Brad Wing punt from his IG, that dude can punt better than Hedley for sure.

Grupe missing a 46 yarder is not a good sign. That is a kick that under pressure winning kickers make. Period.

Hedley needs to be lights out if we don't kick long field goals, always punt outside of the 40, and needs to be able to pinpoint these punts inside the 10. If this team is going as a defense first team then all aspects need to point that way.

The fact the Grupe had to go out there and attempt a 43 year game winner after the team blew a 17 -0 lead in basically least 15 minutes is a worse sign than Grupe missing said field goal.

And he nailed a WG 53 yard kick in preseason.

And yes preseason game winners count for rookie kickers. Guarantee you the same pressure was there on him. Especially in a battle for a job.

I get why they made the move. Punter is definitely struggling, but he's not that far from Gilikin.

After 17 punts Hedley's averaging 43.8 yards a punt (ranked 25th) and has a net punt avg of 39.3 (23rd).

Gilikin had 77 punts last year for an average of 46.4 yards (20th) and a net of 41.5 yards (12th).

So as bad as he's been, it still only 2.6 yards less per average, and a loss of 2.2 yards on the net. Either way, pretty shitty numbers

Everyone talking about DA’s coaching style. The defense is top 3 in the league. The problem on offense isn’t even the play calling. It’s Doug Marrone and his O line coaching. DA needs to nut up and fire him.

I’m a big Peat and Ruiz hater but guys like Mcoy and Ram should not be regressing this much in just a year. It’s bad. This offense cannot execute with the play of the o line.

Offenses points per game with Dennis Allen as a head coach:
2012-18.1
2013-20.1
2014-12.8(4 games)
2022-19.1
2023-17.7(3 games)

This guy is a loser as a head coach and this team isn’t winning anything until he is canned

Hedley is bad. There are definitely better FA punters out there.

If DA cared about retaining his job he would have overhauled the offense in the offseason and got a legit OC. Instead we will have to settle for being the Iowa Hawkeyes of the NFL. I agree Marrone should be gone.

Let’s see how we do when we face a quarterback with half a pulse.

Grupe still looks like the right decision even after blowing it last week. That punter has been downright awful

I said the same thing as the year ended last year. Sounded like one of Carrs big points was he wanted consistency. Sounds like he liked that Carmichael was here for as long as he has been and been part of the system in place. They brought in Marrone after Strief was poached and the offensive line fell off a cliff.

Presnap movement and motion has gone up a whole lot this year from last. I think a lot of the vanilla terrible stuff was related to the qb room last year.

Like Jordan Love? The defense hasn’t given up 20 points in over 20 games. Not sure how you can make any reach to the defense being any type of issue lol. If your offense in the NFL can’t win a game when you hold a team to under 20 the defense isn’t the problem

No. Not like Jordan love

Like an actual quarterback with a pulse.

But I agree the defense isn’t the issue. Dennis Allen being an incompetent head coach and being cool with a fat and happy Carmichael is a much bigger one. If you want to completely remove yourself from one side of the ball get someone innovative to run it. There are lots of hungry coaches in the nfl. You shouldn’t have to talk a Pete Carmichael into staying on as OC.

He got Gruden to install an offense. He just forgot to get a legit playcaller.
