Why was Gurley benched?

Was he hurt? I was at the game and didn’t see him go off injured. Did the Rams rest him for the Super Bowl because they knew the outcome was predetermined ?

Adam Schefter commented that nothing will be released by the Rams until after the SB, they're keeping it tight lipped within the organization. Said he wouldn't be surprised if Gurley had a scope or other medical procedure done in the off-season as something will eventually get leaked. Gurley was clearly not himself on Sunday.

He wasn’t healthy and we were owning his arse when he was in the game. Anderson at least fell forward for some yards
