Why is the Bucs win such a hot talking point making the case for DA?

It was one game. Against the Bucs. Who the Saints just have their number. I’m sure Sean was likely still involved in planning to some extent. We beat them 38-3 once with Sean so 9-0 seems like a big drop off.
This should be a non factor. Or at least way less weight than it’s being given.

The easy way for this to turn out is to make DA the HC. As such, it is reasonable to assume that DA will be the HC.
People generally like to do things the easy way.

I think DA checks a ton of our boxes.
I do have concerns about our offense moving forward but that would be the case even with an offensive minded coach. Maybe our best bet is to be a defensive minded club for a few rebuilding seasons.
I also have a weird concern about Dennis Allen's ability to command the respect of the lockerroom on a long term basis after being the coordinator for many years. He was never Sean Payton during his tenure here and how long will that stick with many of our lockerroom leaders...

At this point give it to DA and try to keep things together for a couple more years. If it works great if not we were going to have to hit reset anyway. With this years draft class I'd rather hit reset in a year with more talent.

This has nothing to do with whether or not he should be named HC. I’m just confused why this one game is the biggest thing on his resume that people are having to make the case for him.

It actually sounds like the players really like him. I don’t think i this would be an issue.

Alarming seeing player not with us currently suggest Aaron glenn. An outsider before DA.

Hardly an outsider. DB coach for five seasons. Left for a promotion.
And if you're worried about only one season as a coordinator, I can think of a guy who took over a black and gold team, with only one season as a DC in the NFC North, to replace a retiring coach...and had plenty of success.

Dennis Allen seamlessly stepped in as HC with the staff that he would have and most of the roster he had and shut out the Super Bowl champions. He literally had the perfect try out and aced it with flying colors.

DA also shut down Rodgers… we aren’t going to luck into an elite QB, so our only hope is to dominate other offenses defensively while doing just enough on offense to win. DA seems like he could be that guy

You know Sean was involved to an extent
Saints are 4-1 against the Brady Bucs
We beat them 38-3 with Sean coaching
That one win when he stepped in shouldn’t carry much weight.
