Why are we being tortured with Joel Meyers for only 3 games?

Enough is enough. I’m sure Mike Hoss is a great man, but there is no comparison. This Professional Organization needs to right a wrong.

I’m sure the Pelicans can find a stand by for the possible 2-3 game conflict.

Joel Meyers is terrible at calling Saints games.
Yes, he has a great sounding voice, but that’s style over substance.
Meyers’ major football flaw is that he only calls out Saints players. I want to know who our Saints players beat and Meyers never calls out both who made the catch/run and who made the tackle on any play. The only Packers he mentioned was Love & Etling.
Watch the highlights of this game from the Packers announcers and they make a boring preseason game more interesting and feel like a regular season game when you know who is making plays from both sides:

I think that's because football is a part time gig for him. When he calls NBA games he has deep knowledge of opponents.

For fricks sake, you think Joel is going to learn the 7th string Nose Tackle for the Packers? It’s a fricking preseason game and this ain’t his full time gig. Listen to him call a Pelicans game. Dude is a national treasure.

But even in the NBA, Summer League that is, he has half-assed the games when it’s two rosters of rookies, scrubs and undfa’s. He would go in-depth on the Pels roster of No-names but would barely mention the scorers for the other team, then you look at the box score and one of the opponents had 30 points.
Joel doesn’t put in the preparation for preseason NFL games or NBA summer games and the games are quite boring consistently.

Yes, Joel is a national treasure, for real NBA games. So why do you excuse his laziness on part-time gigs when other pro’s aren’t lazy with their part-time gigs?

This. There are announcers that can do multiple sports and do it well but Joel Meyers is not one of them. Mike Hoss is terrible on the radio. And for that matter Mark Romig sucks in the dome (pun intended). New Orleans needs to do better.

Mike Hoss is terrible. It takes him 5 seconds to react to a play, and he doesn’t know any of the numbers. He’s almost as bad as Strief. What is wwl thinking?

I think Meyers is willing to give up the Pelicans gig in order to do the Saints instead, he wanted the Saints job
