Jabril Cox RAS score was a 9.73 and ran a 4.52 40.

If we put a lot of stock in it then why didn't we pick him?

Probably because he is a purely an outside guy and has a lot of the same traits as Anzalone - who didnt fit well here. Cox is really better in coverage and is a slow processor. My thinking is that the Saints are looking for Mike or Sam all the way with this pick.

We already have an elite will backer, and rather than force him back to the middle where he's less effective, the staff wanted to get a guy that can play mike or sam. Werner can do that. My 2 cents...

Werner bombed in the playoffs lol

He played great against Clemson and bombed against Bama, who made literally every player and team they played bomb

I thought his tape against Bama was decent. They picked on Borland a ton, but Bama was able to get impossible matchups on him. Bama did most of its damage on OSUs DBs and the LBs were dropping the entire game so its not like we got to see a lot of attacking run defense from Werner. There were several plays where Jones had to check down because Werner had great read and react coverage on TE's, and he had a few nice highlights in that game.

Werner is slow and undersized from what I've seen on the field. I believe he will need some developing IMO.

Crazy talk.
Werner should be our starting will linebacker this year
