Meh we have Cadet, if he doesn't work out there will always be players like DAT Thomas in the draft that we can have next year. We need C and ILB. I do believe we would be fine with Skov or Jones. Skov is more like Lofton but can potentially be better. He's huge, plays the run very well and is a liability in coverage.

What makes people think Cadet will fill any kind of significant offensive role next season? He is a decent STs guy with limited play making ability. He will be fighting for a roster spot next season.

I think he's gone. Of all our backs (especially the undrafted free agents we've had), he's the least exciting and explosive. He fits into the "safe, competent" category...barely.
Which means he's boring and very replaceable.

in 2012 though it looked like he did have big play ability, and he looked pretty good running the ball in the preseason. Remember in the eagles game he had like a 50 yd td catch that got called back?
Then in 2013 he couldnt get 3 a carry in the pretseason, and was only featured as a scatback spell for sproles. Dont think he ran it once.
Did he get slower or something? Dude looked like such a phenom at Appy State, and after 2012 I was pretty sure he could replace Sproles.

Cadet is a capable back. He won't be a featured back, but he won't be competing for a roster spot.

Unless we draft someone who may be better or hit on yet another in a long line of really good UDFA HBs.

He would be the odd man out(unless we only go 5 WR or take 1 less defensive player on the 53).

In for C. Jones. Pretty sure he can play just about every LB position. I like Jeffcoat rushing the QB too

Telvin Smith

STRENGTHS Fiery on-field emotional leader. Plays with passion and it shows -- beelines to the ball and brings energy to the defense. Very good eyes, anticipation and instincts -- sniffs out screens, takes good cut-off angles and negotiates through traffic easily. Plays downhill and often arrives behind the line of scrimmage before ball carriers see him. Outstanding functional football-playing speed. Fluid mover. Outstanding closing speed to the ball. Reliable open-field tackler -- runs through contact. Good coverage skill -- shadows receivers and has a feel for zones. Very likeable, gregarious personality that can unite a locker room and command the LB group. Has been very durable (despite lack of thickness). Has learned what it means to work, and football comes easy to him.

Fast to the ball and plays with a lot of fire. A little lite at 220.

Telvin Smith
6'3" 218lbs. 40yd: 4.6

Weaknesses - Thin-muscled with very lean limbs and limited growth potential to add much more bulk. Overaggressive angles and needs to stay controlled.
Lacks natural power and needs to do a better job finishing once he makes contact with the ballcarrier. Struggles to shed once engaged and lacks the upper body strength to consistently fight through offensive line blocks. Needs to play smarter in coverage.
Scheme specific, but doesn't want to play another position. Only one year as a starter in college.

That sounds pretty damning, but he was definitely a good player for FSU. Lindy's suggest he could only ever start at 43 wlb. Maybe Rob Ryan could put him in for hawthorne some downs. But I dont like that Lacks natural power and lacks growth potential bit. Maybe should play CFL?

Christian Jones is another good one. More of a edge rusher than T Smith.

Highlite reel.

He can edge rush or play actual LB as he's played ILB, OLB, and DE. Truly can do it all and do it all at least decently if not well.

I wouldn't mind taking a flyer on him late or as an UDFA.
