Brees will average 1.5 touchdowns per game next year. He’ll play in 15 games (sitting the final game to rest for the playoffs), therefor he will throw approximately 23 touchdown passes next season.

He will break the record somewhere around week 13.

Drew got outplayed by Jared Goff in the Superdome and choked on a 3 yard slant that would have iced the game regardless. He is Chris Paul with the exception of 2009

For the Dallas game, Vander Esch took Kamara out of the game big time, that threw off the rest of the offense.

Yeah like I said, it was a lot of things. Drew’s age wasn’t one of them

no. brady has a stronger arm than brees. brees' arm strength was never great to begin with. he looked spent before the regular season ended last year.

Why was he doing so well earlier in the season then? This doesn’t explain that. What changed at the end of the year?

Because defenses were too stupid to figure out that Thomas really was the only WR doing anything. Once they started clamping down on Thomas it was downhill from there. Hell, Thomas was breaking receiving records the first half of the season.

No it wasn't because they were stupid. We had a (relatively) healthy Ginn to start the year, and then a healthy Smith to try and fill in after Ginn went out. Then Smith got hurt also and we basically had no one getting separation after the Eagles game until Ginn came back against Pitt.

Having zero vertical threat to clear out the safeties, teams were able to start doubling Thomas near every play, and even tripling him on some.

Once Ginn came back the offense opened up again. Not to the same level as before as Smith was still hurting and Watson basically disappeared, but better than the doldrum period.
