Ingram just isnt cutting it and personally I think Ivory is more of a bruiser. I think the Pierre Thomas and Chris Ivory combo would give the Saints a much better rushing attack. From what I've noticed Ivory hasnt even been dressing out. Are we only paying Ingram because of his contract?

Some stats for reference:
Pierre Thomas, 28 rushes, 153 YDS, 0 TD.
Mark Ingram, 32 rushes, 90 YDS, 1 TD.
Sproles, 12 rushes, 82 YDS.

ESPN only lists 4 players with rushing stats for a combined 323 YDS. Thats pathetic...

90/32 = 2.8.

Heaven help us, it's getting worse.

Yes. Otherwise we probably wouldn't.

We should be running more, period.

That's usually the way it works.

Why should it stop? The fans are obviously wanting a change at that position. Chris Ivory had a 147yrd game the first day of 2012 and in 8 of 10 games played in 2011 he had a run of at least 10yrds & no fumbles lost. Going back to 2010, Ivory had 9 of 12 games with at least a 10 yr run. 4 fumbles/2 lost-early in season)

Ingram had 6 of 10 games played in 2011 with a run over 10yrds. This year, just 1 of 4.

Granted our coaches abandon the run early and had to with our deficits, but what player are we losing by activing Ivory? If its a defensive player, then it really hasn't mattered the first 4 games.

He hasn't even played this year

I cant say for what goes on in practice, but the Saints need a spark in the running game. Ivory has always busted his arse. I think the coaches should give him a shot, but I dont expect much this weekend against the Chargers who are 6th in rush defense.

With the way the Oline has been blocking, not sure anyone short of Barry Sanders would have helped.

I couldn't agree more. But I doubt Ivory is it. He hasn't been active once yet. However, I'd rather see him active than Cadet.

I'm now convinced that Ingram is just a bad fit for the Saints offense, not necessarily a bad RB... Just not good for the Saints.

It didn't sound like Kromer or our RB Coach has any immediate plans for Ivory. Time will tell. Bobby Hebert hounded both of them seperately, "What's it going to take to give Chris Ivory a chance in there?" They basically dodged the question.

Ivory is not reason our running game sucks outside of Jim Brown no one can run behind the run blocking of our oline. He probaly is a hair better then Ingram but not a game changer.

I don't disagree with you on a talent level, but I am so fricking tired of seeing Ingram go down at the first threat of a defender touching him. If Ivory can average 3.5 ypc (and I suspect it could be more like 4-5) I will sure as hell take that over 2.8.

That's just it...Ingram hits the hole whether it's there or not. Ivory has keen vision and sees it before he's there...sort of like Sproles but only larger. They both explode out of the backfield. Ingram hits it, reverses, and tries hitting it again.

I agree.

But I'm an Ivory fan. I believe Ivory is much better than Ingram. But I'm not a football coach. So I assume there's some reason for not playing Ivory. Other than the fumble BS that happened in practice.
