Sorry for the back-2-back threads, but I know an achilles (TD doesn't know how to spell this word) can be a tricky recovery. Is he expected to miss any time at the beginning of the next season, or have they even said yet?

Okafor tore his in october last year? he was back, but his rehab went really well and all these are different. i'd be shocked if rankins was back week 1, my guess would be he starts on IR with designation to return

I would suspect he could miss most if not all of next season. Achilles injuries usually take 8-10 months to recover from. I hope he beats the odds.

8 - 10 Months would put a return in September to November.

Probably back by the second half of the season and will have to play himself into football shape.

Will miss significant amount of games. We need Gerald McCoy

It will depend on the severity of the injury and how it is treated. I would guess that Rankins had his surgically repaired. Typical healing time from surgery is 4-6 months. He’s a professional athlete so it’s fairly safe to assume that he’ll be very motivated and dedicated to his rehab. At most - I would guess he misses 4 games

Two weeks max. Should be good to go by March.

McCoy would be perfect, but we can't really do anything more than a 1 year deal. We're probably going to use the 5th year option on Rankins in 2020. We have to pay Michael Thomas as well. McCoy probably wants a multi-year deal.

Only chance is if he takes the 1 year deal in hopes of winning a Super Bowl.
