In the interview Allen told Albert Breer that the day after Gruden left that he met with Carmichael and told him he wanted Carmichael to run the Saints offense with some of the tweaks they had discussed with Gruden concerning Carr. They want to take advantage of Carr's strengths within the Saints offense.

The point that Allen was making is that they would utilize Carr's strengths within the framework of the Carmichael run Saints style offense vs a Carmichael run Gruden style offense. Clear as mud?

People crapped all over the Carr acquisition, but man with our division and the current state of the NFC QBs, Saints position themselves nicely for the next few seasons to be contenders for the NFC title.
