The Raiders benched him, which most certainly means he won’t be there next year.

The Saints aren’t going into next season with Winston and Dalton again and are going to look to add a new starter from either the draft or a veteran FA/trade. Carr, now, is a likely candidate.

I think most people either love or hate Carr. I’d take him over what we had this year, but I think the biggest issue with Carr has been a lack of consistency in coaching staffs. If CSP were to return, I think he’d be great with Carr. Not so sure I trust the addition of Carr with DA.

What does ST think about adding Carr this offseason?

He sucks arse, guess I'd rather roll with Dalton as he's cheaper.

His contract isn’t terrible if you want to take a swing with him. His cap hit is high, but his dead cap is pennies if you want him move on quickly.

I’ve always kinda liked him. He’s usually pretty accurate. He hasn’t been as good this year. I think he’d be very capable if put in a situation like Jimmy G has been in the last few years where he has to make a few throws but largely reliant on the running game.

I always thought he could be a poor man’s Brees in CSPs system.

Derek was pretty good under Greg Olson as OC. Maybe bring them in together

He's better than what we have. Not elite but not average.

Winston experiment is done but Dalton might stick around another year as depth.
I don’t think he minds being the backup.

Is he? 2019-2020 Derek Carr sure, but he’s done nothing the last two seasons to convince me of that.

We suck at trades so I’m sure we’ll heavily overpay for him. The niners would probably give a 5th for him while we give a 1st

I personally like Carr. I wanted us to trade for him instead of signing Winston as I think a good coaching staff with Carr could be a really good combo.

Alas, we don’t have a good coaching staff, so no need to waste time or energy trying to trade for Carr. He’ll likely end up in Miami, Indy or D.C.

2021 passing leaders:
1. TB12
2. Herbert
3. Stafford
4. Mahommes
5. Carr

His TD/INT ratio isn't good but you said nothing, thats one thing.

I think he’s better than anything we have now and probable anything better than any options for next year. However, he wont be worth the cost to obtain

if Payton were here, sure.

but no if not.

He's had two winning seasons in his career.
