Say that the best offers include a 1st and a 3rd from either the Chargers or Dolphins. Both in the Playoffs. Trade Payton and ask for their 1st round pick in 2024.

Then you have two 1st Round picks in 2024 and can even throw in 2025 to move up for a top QB.

Maybe Caleb Williams

I can get behind this. This team has so many issues. I guess it would be what loomis thinks the direction will be. Cap is a mess

You must think Sean will do worse than the coach that gets fired. I wouldn't do that at all. I think Sean at one of those teams would make that pick worse in 2024

This team doesn’t really have that many issues. The defense is still legit. When healthy the offensive line is too. Ak while slowing a little is good piece as is olave and shaheed. Somehow figure out how to stay healthy is about 80% off the battle. Get better hc and oc also.

General rule is pick in following year is worth 1 less this year.

If you think a 2024 1st is the value, he’s worth a 2nd in 2023. Is that what you think he’s worth?

You get the 2023 first AND 2024 first. We need all the picks we can get, mostly to hit a QB and secondary to replace big dollar guys or guys coming up for big contracts we can't pay due to the cap.

That’s what I’m hoping for 23 draft get players, cut some salary let young guys get experience and suck arse to get a top draft pick in 24 along with the coach trade picks

Well it look at it like this. Yes they both could be better in 2023, but really how much better they are both playoff teams this year. Chargers the #5 and Dolphins the #7. You have to figure that the Chiefs are still the team to beat in the AFC West and the Bills in the AFC EAST and the Jets and Pats are right there. So yes the Dolphins could be worse record wise and position.

Plus you never know about injuries. If Tua stays Concussed or Herbert goes down then it could be a top 10-12 pick.

No way you take Payton for a 1st rounder a year from now. Picks are downgraded a year out. That's why you have to trade a 2nd rounder next year to get a 3rd rounder this year.
