I think looking back at past drafts give you a sunk cost fallacy.

If you draft Mauigoa, sign a G in FA or draft a G later that can start, you make your biggest weakness a strength. And at the end of the day, I think protecting your young QB should be your top priority.

I agree that we need better players on defense. I also think Bain and Faulk aren’t necessarily elite guys. I know Bain had a good game the other day, but I wasn’t super impressed with him in the other games I saw during the year. He’s not a Jared Verse or a JJ Watt. I think you can get better value for a guy who slides in the second like an Overton, Anthony Hill Jr., Corleone, CJ Allen, A'Mauri Washington, Sonny Stiles, or Lawson.

That being said, it’s kind of early to say who we should take at this point. We really need to take the player that makes us better. I just don’t want to say not to take a DE or OL because we’ve taken several with early picks recently.

WR Boston in round 2.

The lowest I’ve seen him mocked is like 20th overall. He’s a lock for the first round. I could be talked around to Bain or even Bailey. Faulk is going to be a 3-4 DE and not an OLB. He’s too damn big.

I still think Bain’s combine will hurt him and you’ll see a guy like David Bailey rise

Build the best oline in the league and nothing less. Do this as priority no.1. The rest can follow.

Here’s the thing though, you don’t HAVE to always spend your first round pick on this. It’s kind of what has sunk previous drafts. Colleges are not doing a good job developing OL so it really feels like more of a crapshoot than it should be. I’d rather try to spend 3rds or later on OL. We’ve have more success doing that than taking them in the first round

I wonder where Elijah Sarrat ends up going. Every time I’ve watched Indiana guy has made a catch or two that says Sunday player.

WR or DE.

You can get a RB later.

One thing is for sure, Mendoza will be the 1st pick in the draft. He looks good. Moore will hopefully go top 5 as well. Simpson ain't it. 2 QBs top 7 and there's lots if great players that will be sitting there at 8-11.

Looks like Simpson has kind of laid an egg towards the end of the season. Not sure he even goes pro at this point. That could be on less QB taken before we draft.

With Vegas being first, I can only imagine how Mendoza will function in that city with that team. Seems like an odd pairing.

It's not sunk cost fallacy, its realizing your defense is pieced together by two guys that should not be playing as well as they are.

The propensity to draft OL early shows on the defensive side. You need franchise players on that side of the ball, and fast.

Why shouldn’t Chase Young be playing this well? Kind of doesn’t make sense to make this statement about a former top 2 pick

Again, our organization knew Chase was this when they resigned him again. He showed out last year, our team and defense sucked

You can say the same thing about the defensive line. Davenport and Turner are busts. Bresee is a one trick pony. “Our propensity to draft DL early shows on the offensive side where we need franchise players on that side of the ball and fast.”

The truth is we’ve had bad drafts since 2018 and we are a talent depleted team on both sides of the ball.

The question is: What should we prioritize? My answer to that question is protecting your franchise QB.

They aren’t on the team anymore. If they were, and even league-average, let’s say, I’d see your point.

You have to mix need with value and that does not come with OL at pick 8 in this draft.
