Once again I ask you:
How many games are necessary?

What perfect roster do we need to make the determination?

More than 6 with Pete Carmichael/Dennis Allen and a horrible uneven team

I didn't realize you were such a great qb scout. All you needed was one game with the new staff to know he will never amount to anything.

He might not but he deserved more starts with this year's team and staff.

So according to you any new qb should only get 7 starts and then the coach should know whether they will be an NFL starter

They made it hard to go deep today. He had that one bad deep pass that will johnson intercepted.

The play calling was designed to dink and dunk, get it out quick. No turnovers, 1 sack taken. Its the right idea but someone still has to make a play. Outside of the deep shot to Shaheed, I don’t think they took another shot.

Rattler pushed it downfield a ton last year (for better or worse). If pushing it downfield means Shough, then put him in. At least entertain us as we lose

No i don’t think I would. I don’t think Spencer Rattler will ever be a QB that wins you games consistently because of him. And I’m not sure why some faction of this fanbase is so committed to pretending otherwise

It’s fricking disturbing, Jim Derry has been talking about this shite all offseason

Yeah. 6 of them under Allen.

I’m not blown away. But Ratt under Moore was light years better than last year.

You post in absolutes. Like we have to take your babble as fact.

Ratt looked just fine today. It is what it is. He’s our starter. We had a chance to win bc of him.

Penalties are why we lost. Thats a fact. It’s not arguable.

Stop acting like your thoughts are the truth. So condescending. You’re not the authority.

They played just fine today. Why bitch about shite we already knew was gonna happen?

Start a thread about how Cam still has gas left. Or Blackmon is a fricking dude. or that AK still has it. Or Granderson erupting with eruption. Or Breese controlling his assignment and also blocking the FG.

You’re talking about the negative. Put it away. We’re rebuilding. Embrace it.

That's fine but it doesn't mean Shough translates to wins. If it does then great. Rattler needs to throw at least 2 TDs a game though.

That’s not the point. This season needs to be about seeing what you have in Shough……..BECAUSE HE IS MORE TALENTED THAN RATTLER.

There is no point at starting Rattler past week 4 (really you should just let him go through the growing pains now, but I get it).

Eventually Moore needs to take a leap.

Not much of a leap for Moore is it. After all he drafted Shough, so he must have seen something.

How so? Because he's taller and faster? He's had 1 good year of college. Not doubting it. Just wondering because rattler was the #1 HS QB. Has more college accolades too.

This. Olave is the only one that can consistently get open but even then he’s still only above average at best.

Shaheed is fine as a one trick pony. Cooks is what he is. And now with Fuaga banged up, Penning still out, there’s no reason to throw Shough out there. It would only be even worse. Shough shouldn’t play for another 4-5 weeks at minimum. Even then, idk if you’re gonna get a proper eval on him. I know people don’t wanna hear it, but I still don’t think we should take a QB this year in Round 1. It wouldn’t matter if we drafted Mahomes right now. We need talent every fricking where. 1-2 Receivers in the draft, Edge, Guard, CB, TE. We need players, which makes trades like Loomis made a few weeks ago even dumber. We need talent on offense. Before we even think about taking a flyer on someone else that will likely just fail behind this team. Banks looks good. Fuaga showed potential despite a few rough reps. McCoy is still a stud. Penning was getting better before he got hurt. But none of that matters because our TE and WR room is abysmal

Take a QB in 2027.

Relax…..

Saints will draft another QB in 2026.

Then we get to Geaux through this all over again.

He’s not lost. He can get the team in and out of the huddle. He seems to understand things and is baseline competent.

But he’s nothing beyond that. He cannot get the ball moving down the field. He cannot complete dynamic plays/passes. They just don’t do anything special with him in the game.

We won’t win with him.

Now it’s just about deciding when Shough is ready. Game 5.
In other words, you are a Shough stan and your opinion will not change. He played well enough. Not sure Shough does anything different unless Moore calls a different game and the Cardinals play a different defense.

Is…this a joke?

We don’t know. We picked him 40th. So we will see.

He is certainly more talented than Rattler.
Typical arm chair QB fan. The backup is always better, despite not knowing if that is even true. The fact is that either QB will struggle. The smart thing is to go with Rattler for a chunk of the season and see what he has. If it is not sufficient, then you go to the rookie. If you have to do it in reverse, you risk destroying the rookie's confidence. Since you hope the rookie is your future, you do not want to do that. To start whining and become impatient after game 1 is ridiculous.

What kind of sample size do you need for him? What kind of perfect scenario do we need to evaluate him?
You sound like someone that has not watched football before. If you think those games last year were a fair evaluation of him, you are fooling yourself and being disingenuous. This is a rebuilding season. Moore cannot risk ruining Shough. It is better for him to watch for several games and then play later in the season.
