I keep hearing oh I'd take a shot at this guy if Payton were still here etc etc

Brees is a hof qb, is it because of csp or brees? Debatable.

Romo, solid qb.

Outside of that, each time the saints took a developmental qb in the 3rd or 4th round under csp they've never developed and often were total trash.

I say all this to say csp gets too much credit for being a qb whisperer when there's a lot of evidence to the contrary

Teddy Bridgewater. Taysom Hill. Trevor Semien. All had winning records.

Not every question has an either/or answer.

no, not at all. brees made paytons reputation much more then it should have been

payton was a great schemer and when he was motivated to he could scheme plays to take advantage of any team, but after bounty gate he rarely put in the same effort he used to

Not a QB Guru.

He was a Savant at play calling and shifting skill positions to leverage matchups

Brees wasn't a HOF caliber QB in San Diego nor was he one for his first 3 years with the Saints. 2008 finally showed just how talented he was throwing for 5000 yards but his interception numbers were still too high. It wasn't until 2009 that it all came together which was his 8th season in the league.

Then why did it take 4 seasons before everything finally clicked?

Kind of looking like how Burrow made Joe Brady
