Sorry, but I do not have a link to NBC Sports article (it was on my newsfeed), but that is the speculation.

Did not know that League offices can contact refs in real time to throw a flag late.

They didn’t make that call.

Seems more and more likely that the fix was indeed in.

frick the nfl.

The fix was in. Not likely. Certainty. And people will be held accountable because that’s how Tge League can fix a game and distance themselves from it. Create scapegoats

If he does, he will be a fall guy with a nice retirement package and will someday replace Mike Pereira.

He ain’t losing his job. Who loses their job for doing exactly what their employer tells them to?

Just a job? Him and the crew last night should have to do something horrible as a penalty.

Like lick a portopotty clean.

That’s not in doubt anymore. We know it’s rigged. It’s fake. It’s not a competitive sport. If you spend money on the NFL ever again, it’s your fault.

He didn't get fired last year for making repeated incorrect reviews.

Riveron could have (should have) used the ability to speak directly to referee Bill Vinovich to tell him to drop a flag. Yes, it would have come late. Yes, it would have sparked speculation that the rules of the high-speed fiber line had been violated. Yes, it would have indeed violated the rules. No, nobody would have really cared — including the Rams and their fans.

Sounds to me like it would have been unprecedented to do that.

There has to be a first

This would have been the perfect opportunity. No doubt in this call.

Saints last three possessions:
1. Blown PI on 3rd down
2. The only holding penalty of the game (Meanwhile, Rams hold on every single play)
3. Second blown PI that cost us the game

How can this be allowed?

That’s why they are all wearing headphones. Someone higher up is telling them what and what not, and when or not to call it. They do control the outcome of the game.

Screw that, don't act like a whinny bitch. Just tarnish The Shield. Tarnish the NFL's reputation. Since that is all they care about. The "player's safety" BS is over. Anytime they bring up player's safety this off-season, remind them of the nonsense. I am sick of the double speak and the lack of consistency on calls.

The officials are only partially to blame. It starts at the top with criminal Goodell and his crew of thieves who orchestrate the manipulation games.

The officials are unethical human beings for taking such a shady and dishonest job like NFL referee, but at the end of the day they’re doing what they are paid to do. It’s the liars and the thieves at the top who need to be held accountable and punished with prison time for what they do.

They're so very concerned about player safety they let the rams player plow into the saints player at full speed, the rams player already admitted he wasn't even going for the ball.
Helmet to helmet contact, which could have caused a concussion, ended a career.
The pass interference speaks for itself.
Yet no flags for either.
But yeah they care deeply about player safety.
The nfl cares about money. Nothing more, nothing less.
