This is insane

quote:

Broughton primarily lined up as a defensive tackle but could line up as a 3-4 defensive end in the NFL after producing an elite 13.0 percent pass-rush win rate in 2024. In Texas’ full 2024 season, Broughton totaled 32 quarterback pressures, four sacks, 26 stops, 29 solo tackles and five TFLs.

Bo Davis coached him at Texas. If he wanted him in New Orleans, he must be pretty good!

Dude looks like an impact player and explosive.
If they drafted him, they feel like he has room to continue to develope

I love the pick. Would’ve been happy with AZ Thomas from FSU but I love our defense getting bigger on the dline.

Love the pick too. Need young, explosive players on the d line.

Ok, what are they calling a "stop" if it isn't a tackle?

would have preferred the other DT from Texas, Alfred Collins, but Broughton is not terrible...

but DT seems like one of the more solid positions on the team, so why invest another pick here right now?

Bresee, just got Godchaux via trade, drafted Boyd last year, still have Saunders and Sheppard, John Ridgeway still in the fold...

and we draft ANOTHER one?

Some of these guys will be a DE in the 3-4, and most are aging. Bresee is the only young one.

That seems solid to you?

And Broughton may be a DE anyway

in comparison to our CB, WR, and LBs? yeah, that group is much more solid...

maybe, but again, DL, as a whole, is a much more solid group than some other areas of the team

I don't disagree, but you don't force position if it doesn't line up.

I wanted a CB at 40, but they obviously had other plans. I hope both CB and WR are addressed in FA because there are still a bunch of 2nd and 3rd tier guys sitting there.

we aren't going to have a choice, b/c it's not looking like we are going to address it via the draft...

as far as CB, Zy Alexander, a very good tackling CB, hopefully is still there for us in the 4th

WR, there's really no one that I can say make us any better than what we have currently, and considering our WR room, well, that's just sad

I saw his cut up. Probably means nothing but he was on the ground a lot. A little worrisome. He actually fell into some tackles lol

Csb….knew him when we was like 8 or so. His mom was assistant coach at LSU women’s basketball. I was a manager and worked the summer camps.

Apparently coach Davis has leaked Broughtons nickname

Chicken Legs.

lol.

From the shorts clip of Davis calling Broughton last night when they drafted him.
