Yeah to save cap space this will likely be the move. You cut him before week 1 and bring him back before week 2 so his salary isn't guaranteed.
Which likely means Edmunds makes it week one, but may be cut week two.

He's got 287 career carries with 14 rushing tds and 32 career receptions with only 1 rec td. Not really the stat line of a "receiving rb"
I didn't say he can't become a receiver either, he just isn't one right now. Obviously he will not make it in this league at his size without developing that part of his game; that's a given. People on this board often talk about him like he's a sproles clone, and that's a huge misconception; they are very different players.

Dude he's like the same dimensions as Maurice Jones Drew. Ppl shite on him because of his small size, but if you'd actually watch that video you'd see that he PUNISHES people twice his size. I know it's Tech and hes going against garbage D's, but I just have a good feeling about this dude and I've been saying that since we drafted him.

You don't think MJD was a good receiver? 25% or more of MJD's touches were receptions. He is also the greatest small running back of all time probably, so I'm not sure I want to hinge my bet on that comparison.
Before we get deep in this, let me say, I like Scott. I think he's a great asset; I'm not bashing him in any way whatsoever. I'm just saying it seems the majority of people have him slotted in as a Sproles; and talk about him like he's gonna come in on passing downs, but he's not that player currently, and that is fine.
ETA: so mjd has career 25% targets compared to rushes, but actual receptions is more like 19%; checked myself. So not that far off; and early on in his career; he was way more receiving oriented, Over 30% of his looks were passes his first 3 years. Not the same player as scott at all.

Regardless, one thing I think we can both agree on is that getting him in the 6th round was a STEAL. And I completely agree with you on ppl that draw the Sproles comparison, he's a rookie from LA Tech, lol. Obviously he's going to need a season to develop. I do think he will develop this season as our go to return guy. If Scott were to develop Tate's field vision and timing, he would be scary.
