Good thing we were able to sign Jared Cook or this might be us...

Patriots signed TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins, formerly of the Jaguars, to a one-year contract.

ASJ was easily the best tight end left on the free-agent market. New England made a push for Jared Cook following Rob Gronkowski's retirement, but Cook opted to stay committed to the Saints. For the Patriots, Seferian-Jenkins joins Matt LaCosse, Jacob Hollister, and Stephen Anderson at tight end. ASJ posted a miserable 11-90-1 line for the Jaguars in five games last season before landing on I.R. with a core injury.

Cornerback P.J. Williams agreed to a new deal with the New Orleans Saints last week, and details of the contract have finally emerged.

The Saints gave Williams a one-year deal worth $2.25 million, and all of the money is guaranteed.

The deal includes a $1.4 million signing bonus as well as an $850,000 base salary, and the base salary is guaranteed even if the Saints cut him for injury, skill or salary cap related reasons.

NFL Network initially reported the deal as being worth $5 million last week, so there might be some added incentives in the contract, though those details are not currently available.

Either way, this is clearly a prove-it deal for Williams after he saw his most extensive action in 2018. A third-round pick in 2015, Williams became the primary nickel cornerback for most of last season after Patrick Robinson suffered a season-ending ankle injury, and Williams finished the year with 53 tackles, one sack, one interception, nine passes defensed and two forced fumbles.

Williams and Robinson will compete for that role again in 2019. Williams, though, could begin the season with a suspension after a January arrest for allegedly driving while intoxicated.

I think my guess was $2.5 mil tops, maybe with some incentives.

A little surprised it's all guaranteed, but for how little it is total he's great PRob insurance and can play the nickel well.

Here's PJ's official contract per Overthecap LINK

P.J. Williams signed a one year contract with the New Orleans Saints on April 8, 2019. The contract is worth $2.25 million fully guaranteed. Williams received a $1.6 million signing bonus.

I didnt see anyone post anything about it but Crawley officially signed his tender last night.

I know his 2018 season was horrific but in 2017 he was a viable NFL starter. Between him and PJ I think most should love our CB depth at least compared to what most people in the league have in terms of a 5 deep.

I like the Crawley signing. There's no risk since the 2.025 mil isn't guaranteed. He has to earn a spot in the preseason.

We've all seen very good play & also horrible play. He'll be worth the money if he's somewhere in the middle of his 2017 play & 2018 play. His 2016 year (rookie year) was very up & down. He had some very good games (shut down Julio) & some very bad games that year.

If he ends up getting cut, then I guess PJ Williams will be backing up the slot & both outside CB spots. We might need to find a backup outside CB if Crawley sucks again, b/c Sherels & Hardee are basically just ST.

Personally, I think he'll be good enough to make the roster. His back is up against the wall & he knows it. It's now or never for Crawley...as far as playing for the Saints goes. I'm positive that another team will give him a shot if we cut him. I'm rooting for Crawley.

It kinda is. I've already accepted it though, b/c I would think they would have already asked him to take a paycut if that was the plan.

Peat & Klein are overpaid this year, but we need both of them. Both are on the last year of their deals, so they're both auditioning for a contract next year. It is what it is.

I just updated the roster (on the 1st page of this thread) with the 5 draft picks & 17 udfa's.

I don't see any needs for QB, FB, WR (some might disagree), TE, starting OL, ST, LB, & S.

These are the potential needs that I currently see. I'll just copy what I wrote on the 1st page.
RB - If Holland moves to slot WR, I'd like to bring in another RB.
Backup OL - Hopefully we bring in a vet backup OT. Ola, Newton, Wozniak, Greenridge, & Kelly can play OT. I don't think it would be wise to assume that any of them will become a legit backup OT for us.
DT - Maybe a vet DT if Edwards, Laulile, Bigelow, or Tuttle can't step up.
DE - We can really use a vet DE that can rush the passer.
CB - Maybe a vet backup outside CB if Crawley, Campbell, or Wyatt can't lock down the backup role. We might be counting on using PJ here though.

So far, we have 17 udfa's confirmed (signed a contract) by Spotrac, 2 unconfirmed udfa's, & 11 rookie tryouts.

17 confirmed udfa's by Spotrac. The last guy (CB Darius Williams) got added yesterday.
01 - RB Devine Ozigbo Contract
02 - RB Darnell Holland Contract
03 - WR Lil'Jordan Humphrey Contract
04 - WR Deonte Harris Contract
05 - WR Emmanuel Butler Contract
06 - TE Jake Powell Contract
07 - OT/OG Ethan Greenidge Contract
08 - OG Mike Herndon Contract
09 - OT/OG Derrick Kelly Contract
10 - LS Nick Moore Contract
11 - DT Kenny Bigelow Contract
12 - DT Shy Tuttle Contract
13 - DE Carl Granderson Contract
14 - DE Corbin Kaufusi Contract
15 - LB Chase Hansen Contract
16 - CB Jordan Wyatt Contract
17 - CB Darius Williams Contract

2 unconfirmed udfa's by Spotrac
-DE Porter Gustin, USC - I think it's safe to assume that he's an udfa. He would make 18 total udfa's. Spotrac just hasn't added him yet. Should be soon.
-LB Darrell Williams, Auburn - It was said that the Saints were working on signing him, but it wasn't official yet. Not sure if anything has changed, b/c I haven't seen anything concrete yet. He's still a question mark imo.
-I've seen another name or 2 that have been mentioned as udfa's for us, but nothing official. I'll add names (updated on the 1st page) once Spotrac has added them.

11 rookie tryouts
01 - S Ed Paris, LSU
02 - S Reid Miller, Montana
03 - DT Tank Terrell, Northern Colorado
04 - K Cole Tracy, LSU
05 - QB Kyle Kempt, Iowa State
06 - DE Stacy Keely, UAB
07 - OL Matt Kauffman, Towson
08 - RB A.J. Ouellette, Ohio
09 - OC Troy Bacon, Rocky Mountain
10 - OC Elijah Rodriguez, Texas
11 - S Robbie Grimsley, North Dakota State

SaintsWire is a pretty good site for udfa's & rookie tryouts. They're pretty accurate. I got my info from this site & Spotrac.

I updated the roster. Here are the transactions from the rookie minicamp. We went into camp with 85 players.

Additions
FB Michael Burton
DE Geneo Grissom
WR Cyril Graysom
OC Marcus Henry
OT John Ulrick
LB Colton Jumper
RB A.J. Ouellette
CB David Simmons
DT Sylvester Williams
WR Micah Wright

Subtractions
RB Martez Carter
TE Jake Powell
RB Darnell Holland
DT Tomasi Laulile
CB Darius Williams

We have 90 total players after the rookie minicamp.

There probably won't be much action (as far as roster shuffle) going on until voluntary OTA"s. OTA's are May 21 to 23, May 28 to 30, June 3 to 6.

Mandatory minicamp is June 11 to 13. Then it gets real boring for about 4-5 weeks until training camp starts.

After the 1st day (10 total practices) of voluntary OTA's, the Saints signed DE Wes Horton & released udfa LB Darrell Williams.

Still at the maximum roster limit of 90 players.

We have OTA's today & tomorrow, so we might have a move or 2 during the next couple of days.
